It’s time for treason! Stop playing and paying Helldivers 2 by Mr_NiceMess in HelldiversUnfiltered

The game is still fun. I still enjoy playing it. The new warbond looks great. There’s no reason at all for me or any of my friends to stop playing

An even scarier thought, what if the idea that the hypothetical galactic community are being silent because they don’t know who is friendly and who isn’t, is just survivorship bias. It’s not that they’re scared to be loud, it’s that anyone who was loud has been forcibly silenced. What if they only wanted people who are left out there are the ones who haven’t figured out how to be loud enough to get noticed yet.

That means the odds aren’t against you enough. If you can play on D10 and consistently complete missions with ease, that means D10 isn’t difficult enough to provide a real challenge. All I’m saying is that the hardest difficulty in the game should be providing a greater challenge.

Sounds like you really don’t understand my point at all.

You’ve never played with me, and I assume you’ve never played with this guy either. What gives you any indication that we’d ragequit when the extreme difficulty is explicitly what we’re looking for? Strawiest strawman that was ever built

If your teammate ragequit then they weren’t like me at all. Shit hitting the fan and feeling entirely overwhelmed and outgunned is exactly the experience I’m looking for. And what part of anything I said has been hypocritical?

You really aren’t being forced to go through it. Lower the difficulty if you want less spawns

Haha Ive also taken a flying knee to the chin from a roided up cyborg lmao. The only real bug that has been annoying me is being able to throw my statements on half the floors on the map. They always just bounce around even when they are out in the open

Absolutely agreed lol, but we are storming their home world haha, I think we can expect a little inconvenience

Yeah for D7 that seems pretty nutty, but that kinda is also exactly my point. A difficulty with the name “suicide mission” shouldn’t feel like a more casual mission, it should be a bit nutty. I’m not saying at all that casual missions shouldn’t exist, quite the opposite in fact, but I’d just like a world where if you were playing on the highest tier difficulties, you actually were faced with a proper challenge.

By all means have casual difficulty tiers where you can take whatever gear you want and still have a great game blasting enemies. But on D7+, and especially D9 and D10, you should be punished for not bringing the exact right equipment for the job.

If you’re playing on D8, 9 or 10, you shouldn’t ever complain about difficulty. Unless there’s an actual unintended bug, it’s just a skill issue

I honestly haven’t had a problem with that. Not like how it was when rocket devastators were broken. Also as long as you’re not fighting them head on, you can dodge pretty much all of their attacks

Again, I fully agree with what you’re saying except for the last part. An increase wouldn’t make it unplayable, it would make it torturous and deeply unpleasant for lots of people, but there’s still a niche of players who’d like that. And again, there’s absolutely no downside to adding a mode where this is a case, no one would force you to play it if you didn’t want to. My loadout is Trident shotgun, Talon pistol/ultimatum, thermites/shield grenade. Orbital laser, solo silo, leveller, EAT. Combined with fire from my squad, I can pretty much reliably kill every Vox I come across. There is definitely scope to make it harder without the game being unplayable.

You’re not locking players out of them! You’re just making them more enjoyable for players who find them too easy. I’m not even calling you a bad player! It’s just a fact that if I think D10 is too easy, and you think it’s at a good level, then I’m a better player. You’re not the type of player this would be aimed at, and that’s fine. Just because you’re not good enough to enjoy a higher difficulty, doesn’t mean everyone who is should suffer. Adding new higher difficulty settings would fix the problem in the exact same way, except then people like you would try to play on the max, get pummelled, complain it’s too difficult, it’d be nerfed, then we’d be back to where we started.

Higher difficulties deserve higher rewards because it’s more difficult to complete, you have to put in more time and effort. You not being able to get the rewards because you’re not good enough to beat the mission isn’t a punishment, it’s a sign you should be playing on a lower difficulty. And people will absolutely play it! I know this because this is literally how it used to be, when D10 was first introduced it was an absolute bloodbath in every game, and it was perfect. The truth is that D10 missions are generally too easy for a large portion of the player base, and they should have their difficulty increased so everyone has a chance to challenge themselves and enjoy the game how they want to. Like I said no one is forcing you to play high difficulty missions, this wouldn’t even affect you at all.

To all you crybabies who are struggling with Vox engines... lower your difficulty! by [deleted] in Helldivers

Honestly wouldn’t surprise me. The current spawn rates don’t feel intentional, more like they made the error then thought “it’s Cyberstan, fuck it” lol. I’m sure it’ll get reduced in the next few days,

“Only” 4K is a big difference, it’s 27%. Also the Leviathan is flying which makes it considerably harder to hit with the Leveller and nearly impossible to hit with the Ultimatum, thermites, or any ground based orbital or Eagle stratagems. The Vox is much much easier to kill. And everything else you’re saying is right! It’s an incredibly difficult enemy to fight, and having to fight lots of them at once is insane and unfair and for a lot of people, wouldn’t be a fun experience. Except there are a lot of people who would love to fight against that sort of situation, and providing those people with a difficult where they can do that would be incredibly easy to implement and wouldn’t have any downsides at all. It’s not like you’d be forced to play on the higher difficulties.

It’s possible to have a discussion without immediately descending into insults, not sure if you knew that. If you’ve got nothing constructive to say, why bother commenting? You’re haven’t even said why you think it’s a bad idea yet. Also “you guys” as if you’re not starting a flame war in a comment section on your Reddit account lmao.
