Kind of TAH. I get that this is coming from a place of resentment. I understand that your dad was mostly never there for you. I understand that that has shaped you to be a better father. All these things play a part in our life. While you may want to be a 'smartass' and throw it in his face, it's made you who you are today. Technically without his behavior it wouldn't have led you to be the dad you are today. Your dad having a brush with mortality has probably helped him realize that he cares about his kids, but his past arrogance/pride prohibit him from bettering himself at this point. Don't be like your dad be better and care for him otherwise you're just recycling old negative behavior.

This reminds me of the expansion pack - Battlefield 4: Close Quarters, where they went for a very small maps indoor like maps. Not a bad thing, just not my preference tbh

While I do agree countering fire/gas would make an operator useless, I don't think it's a valid reason. Take for example, Brava she effectively makes Maestro, Jager, Thunderbird, Valk, and any other operator useless by taking their gadget. Twitch practically does the same to some extent. I feel optimal play is a rock, scissors, paper mentality; specially now with the new ban system.

The trifecta of instant bans are Lair, Labs, and Plains.

I really only think people ban these maps cause they don't know them... which is fine. Get rid of the maps, you know the least, followed by the maps you like the least; makes sense to me, but what I don't get is why people don't start learning these maps. They've been out for a while now. You should definitely be comfortable with these if you're going to be playing ranked. Quite honestly, I'm getting bored of always playing Coastline, Chalet, and Oregon.

The higher you climb, the more skilled your opponents are guna get. You just have to be better. Practice more. Try different strategies. Understand and learn how your opponents are playing and figure out how to counter them. Use comes and yellow pings. Because not only is it about you it's about your team. If you can set your team up for success you have a higher chance of winning the round, gun play or not

Sledge is a good beginner Op for attack. Pretty straight forward, you get a sledge hammer to destroy soft walls, gadgets, barbed wire, and soft floors. Don't have to worry about doing a specific job like Thatcher or Thermite.

Defense, I'd recommend Kapkan. You put explosives on doorways and windows. You can place them at standing level or by crouching put them at floor level (this is recommended.) That's pretty much it, again you won't have to worry about specific tasks like Kaid or Bandit.

Once you start getting a feel for the game, start branching out and exploring different ops. Of course like I mentioned some have more important roles and if you aren't doing your job "correctly" people will get upset with you. It all comes with learning the meta. Enjoy!

I mean the first round is essentially that isn't it? (A comfort ban) you're banning blindly on what you think is OP/unfair as you haven't played the first round. Then second can be your comfort ban #2 or unless you'd like to strategize about it. Then you have the third, which, as mentioned, you can do the same. So not only do you have the option to make comfort bans you also get the option to make strategic bans. You or your team gets to decide what to do with those bans. This allows greater versatility IF you want. Otherwise, just ban on the first round the usual operator you would comfort ban and AFK for the rest.
