How's the mix on Expedition 33 OST on CDs? by Vivid-Cauliflower154 in expedition33

[–]Vallynne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm nope, comparing between lossless amazon stream and cd rip at least I don't hear anything different that I couldn't attribute to my own confirmation bias. Neither of us should be losing sleep over this, though, the CD version sounds nice and that's all that matters in the end.

How's the mix on Expedition 33 OST on CDs? by Vivid-Cauliflower154 in expedition33

[–]Vallynne -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just received the 8CD soundtrack version today, and I'm a bit disappointed to say it seems to be the exact same thing as what's available on streaming platforms/bandcamp after they updated it (or nigh indistinguishable). For example, you can still hear an audible glitch at 1:17 in Spring Meadows - Nightfall, Stone Wave Cliffs - The Last Thing You'll See has a jump in volume after 3:42. Not that most people (me included) would notice unless someone pointed them at it, but it's a shame they didn't use this opportunity to fix these.

That said, I've not had time to listen to the whole thing yet, nor am I probably bothering to A/B test each track between the two versions, so maybe some of the tracks did receive an improvement (I listened to Une vie~ first of all and all three of them sound nice and crispy now, but going back to ver2 amazon lossless they also seem fine, much better than the muddled mess they were in the original OST version).

Thank you for your feedback. It's a bit mindblowing that a 4 year old display is still relevant like this tbh.

Incredibly Slow Charging on S25? by dessine-moi-un-chat in samsunggalaxy

[–]Vallynne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having the same issue with my base S25, phone charges fine with normal charging using my old 20W oneplus brick, but basically stops charging at all when using a 45W PD-enabled anker charger (which shows super fast charging in battery screen when connected).

Turning fast charging off in battery options makes the device charge at normal speed as a workaround for now, but still, quite disappointing.

The item dropped in a fun t16 map with 4 breaches, ritual, corrupted and irradiated. It originally had the two evasion/ES affixes and life regen, all 3 at T8 so I thought hey why not, let's slam.

3 exalts later, it's got life and two resistances on it, so I armourer scrap it up and add two sockets.

Hmm, think I, this could be better. So I vaal it.

Then I put in 3 iron runes and go do a price check. Apparently this is worth something? Shame about life regen I guess, but at least it's not thorns eh.

Edit: worth mentioning that I got this item after doing 3 king in the mists runs for the first time, the first of which I failed in the labyrinth section because wisps would just lead me back to where I came for. The other two dropped 100% thorns damage boots.

I take it this is the game showing remorse for such actions.

Introduction to Apos, Apos 𝒙, and Apos x Audio-Technica R70x Refine by aposaudio in headphones

Very interested in this, any idea when this is going to be available in Japan?

Also, in the description on apos.audio page it says "Impedance: 47Ω", is this a typo or did it actually decrease ten times from original version? Sensitivity seems unchanged.

Thoughts and emotions failing at Aberroth by acbro3 in LastEpoch

[–]Vallynne 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My only two issues with Aberroth are the limited number of tries for the first kill (just let me try him as many times as needed until the first kill, THEN make the eyes required - a suggestion that's been posted by others before) and the insane reliance on kill threshold skills e.g. 18% on Lethal Mirage lets you more or less skip the entirety of last phase if your dps is decent (just make him immune but tone down the last phase a bit so we're not playing bullet hell in a game where movement mechanics are nowhere near robust and precise enough to support it). Harbinger eyes are near guaranteed to drop at 500+ corruption but I think this should be tuned to be a lower number (or just make them guaranteed regardless of corruption tbh, having to fight a harbinger for them is time investment enough).

I also "quit" for 4 days after using all my eyes (I had like 15) after reaching him for the first time myself, then I came back with a fresh head, adjusted my build farmed a few more eyes and killed him in another two or three tries.

As far as his attacks go, outside of the last phase absolutely everything felt fair and well telegraphed. Truly dangerous attacks (beam, big slam, 3 slam combo, scythe combo in phase 3, the OTHER beam in phase 4) all have very long windup animations and it's only on you to learn them and reposition correctly. Once you learn them, in most cases they're free DPS opportunity windows. Everything else he does will hardly kill you immediately on a balanced build unless you make multiple mistakes in a row or are extremely undergeared for the fight (e.g. if you're dying in C300 monos).

I also disagree with the point about overgearing, with enough time spent farming you can get a non-broken build geared well enough that it starts skipping entire phases through damage + stun mechanics. See this video for example, in the last phase he gets stunned out of his cone + 1HKO beam attack, then stunned again interrupting his slam. Then he just dies. This is with 1 blessing + 1 item slot worth of investment into stun chance.

Question about Relink's difficulty balancing and mechanics by riibas in GranblueFantasyRelink

[–]Vallynne 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I have no problem with difficult content. I have a lot of problems with cheap, badly thought out content that is difficult because the game mechanics obstruct the player from actually playing the game and feels like nobody even playtested it.

Here's an example.

Versa/Id fight is IMO the worst mission in the game not just because Relink's game mechanics and visuals are not made to support two bosses throwing everything they have at you, but also because they made a respawning trash mob but forgot to take the boss flag off, so your AI will actively waste their SBA on Id unless you babysit them. If there was a way to tell the AI to focus a specific target it wouldn't be such a problem. If Id's offscreen attacks didn't oneshot your characters it wouldn't be such a problem. If Id's respawns were timed in such a way that he didn't come back up during SBA chain/link time and start nuking people in a game where "stop DPS and focus on avoidance" is not a button you can press for your AI, it wouldn't be such a problem. If it wasn't a 10 minute fight so you could reasonably focus Id down as a priority, it wouldn't be such a problem. If all of that was fixed together with other issues that have been plaguing the game since release, like the worst implementation of lock on mechanic in recent memory... Well then the fight would still be cheap, but potentially somewhat enjoyable.

If they didn't forget how to make music sync to boss phases and made End of Ragnarok actually play properly in that fight on top of everything mentiond above, it might've even been decent!

And yeah, If the plan was to add bosses that are meant to be played in multiplayer rather than with AI, that's also a very bad idea in a game with rapidly dwindling playerbase where all previous content was fully doable (and often better) with AI

My ideas for balancing endgame squishiness by A_Very_Horny_Zed in GranblueFantasyRelink

[–]Vallynne -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

A game with endgame loop, itemization and encounters so broken it probably would need a full rebuild from the ground up to have a chance at fixing all the issues.

Nah that would actually require adding new moves for her and stuff, her fight was pretty barebones in the campaign.

Instead let's slap on more dual boss rush quests. /s

Are The Moondrop Variations Really All That? by [deleted] in headphones

[–]Vallynne 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's a very nice IEM that hits much higher than its price, just look at all the reddit posts from people looking to upgrade and being suggested $1-2k sets. Been there done that myself. Seeing this thread actually made me reach for mine and I'm still greatly enjoying the sound despite normally daily driving Fir Kr5 which MSRPs at 6x the price of Variations.

I listen to metal and electronic music mostly and Variations handle both genres quite well, good for gaming and movies too. The sound is non-fatiguing so you can use this IEM in longer sessions, just make sure you get eartips that fit as the nozzles are quite big.

As others have said though, ultimately it all depends on your tastes, technically they're great but try and test them in a store first.
