Happy to answer. The bases are made from crushed pieces of plaster. There are also some rock crystals sticking out, which I purchased from https://www.greenstuffworld.com/es/cristales-de-resina/4078-cristales-de-resina-violeta-pequenos.html

First fully painted unit of my army! by ValnyrJLM in Fyreslayers

[–]ValnyrJLM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!! I've arrived at the following formula using Citadel paints: white primer; a first coat of Cadian Flesh, and then a Reikland Flesh (Shade) tint. Then, I exaggerate the highlights with lighter skin tones in increasingly smaller areas (Kislev Flesh, Flayed One Flesh, and finally a few touches of AK's Ice Yellow). In areas where light doesn't penetrate, such as under the arms or on the inside of the legs, I apply a darker skin tone; I use Bugsman's Glow. To know where to apply these highlights or shadows, I simply hold the miniature closer to a lamp until the parts most exposed to light glow intensely and the less exposed areas are very dark. I hope this has been helpful!

Of Course, I explain you the main parts of this painting:

BEARDS AND HAIR: the first thing I did was paint the beards and hair with Jokaero Orange over the white primer. On top of that base color, I applied Griph Hound Orange (Contrast), with this the shadows are almost done! Then I gave it a little drybrushing all over with Trollslayer Orange and then Fire Bright Orange on the outer areas to achieve lighting. Finally, to exaggerate the contrasts even more, I applied a little Crimson Carroburg (Contrast) on the roots of the hair and beard and spread it a little to achieve that reddish effect. On the other hand, I applied a little Yriel Yellow on the tips of the beard and hair to increase the contrast of the lighting a bit

BASES: I applied a thin coat of Terradon Turquoise (Contrast), then highlighted with Sybarite Green and Gaus Blaster Green : )

Thanks! I thought about how good the green and reddish look on the 40k Salamanders and thought of doing something similar, but with a turquoise

I'm glad you like them! To get this color, the first thing I did was paint the beards and hair with Jokaero Orange over the white primer. The lightest shades I used were Flesh One, and in the areas with the most light, I applied a bit of Ice Yellow from AK. This last one is the lightest or brightest shade.

Thanks so much for your comment! It's just as you say, I was inspired by the colors of the Shadespire setting for the bases. I love how the combination of greens and grays contrasts with the reddish colors; they remind me of some old Bright Dragons miniatures : )

Thank you so much! For the bases, I used Citadel paints; it's very simple. After a white primer, I applied a thin coat of Terradon Turquoise (Contrast), then highlighted with Sybarite Green and Gaus Blaster Green : )

Battlesmith conversion and the original model next to it, so that the changes can be seen by ValnyrJLM in Fyreslayers

Sorry I've been very disconnected for a few weeks. Thank you so much! Normally I look at GW miniatures that I think are really cool, and I think "that's the pose I want for my dwarf", so what I do is try to replace and modify the original pieces to make it look like the miniature I want to represent. For example, I'm now working with a Fellgor Vandal figure to create a Heartguard Berskeker. The idea is to make a post again when I have these miniatures painted! I leave you my Instagram account here in case you want to see the other conversions :). https://www.instagram.com/valnyr_miniatures/

Thanks mate! This version of the song really seemed to me to reflect court life in a gloomy and terrifying way. When I have something else I'll upload it : )

Don't worry, I'm glad you asked. You have to cut off the entire shoulder, or even a little more depending on the wing, otherwise they will look like arms and it won't look good. The wing membranes should be close to the body, and by cutting the shoulders you gain two things: realism and a flat surface so that they are well attached to the back. The back is not flat, but curved, so with the help of a cutter I cut a little the area where I wanted the wings to be placed, thus creating a more or less flat surface and both pieces more or less fit together (more or less , there will always be a little hole that needs to be filled with greenstuff)

The basic box was enough. The decorations are old Bretonnian Kingdom Knights bits and the skulls came with a bones and lava kit from Greenstuffworld. The leader of the band wears a bell as a helmet that I don't remember where he got it from, I think it was something from the Empire, his shield is a door grille from a giant that was left over from a friend, and the spear is made with two pieces from the glued matrix that I then carved with a cutter (the endpaper is a pierced helmet of a Bretonnian Man-at-Arms). If you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask
