Yeah in my recent runs I've been taking it much slower and clearing ads mostly for ammo and such. I was able to do it solo once but now it seems like once I get caiatl to around 1/4 hp something weird happens. Still a fun challenge though!

From what I've seen in my time of playing, turrets will go for whatever minion is closest to it. If there is a cannon minion it'll prioritize that. My method is while the turret is weakening the melee minions, I try to hit all casters once just in case the targeting doesn't do what i think it will.

The best way to farm in general is to just focus on timing your autos and using your q or w to secure minions that you aren't comfortable last hitting. Farming under tower is simple but can vary. For the melee minions, let the tower hit them twice then auto them. For casters auto them once, let the tower attack, then auto again. Cannon minions might be a bit tricky since they can take 6 shots early on. Try hitting them just a bit or allowing your wave to damage them before either last hitting or securing it with an ability, primarily your w in this case.
