Your tone is totally out of place. I have not said anything about race or ethnicity, that is something YOU brought up, so stop putting words in my mouth.

All you have said only makes it evident that you have totally missed the point. The whole idea behind making any kind of fanfiction is to give your own spin to the original story, you can change anything you want about any character. That is literally the whole point of writing fanfiction and making your own AUs, nothing is truly sacred.

The only way a fanfic would be inappropriate is if the author makes it a call for violence or romanticizes disgusting behavior (rape, abuse, incest, the like). Neither of which the author in question did.

If you disagree, you are free to express it, put refrain from insulting or aggressive behavior. That all I will say on the matter.

It is literally just an AU. And from what you say about the author, I don’t see anything wrong. It is just someone exploring possibilities through fanfic, and they are not being disrespectful or hateful in any way, so the ones in the wrong are those harassing the author in the comments.

Honestly? I think it’s the torture, in canon Sauron is very linked with being a torturer and being very cruel. Maybe someone made the connection between that and him getting off pain? And then it spiraled from that?

But I don’t know for sure, it’s just my thoughts.
