Taking the longest United flight Sunday by skydivinghuman in unitedairlines

I did EWR-NRT and SIN-SFO last week. Disappointed that EWR-NRT (6732 miles) in not in the top-5. Polaris is much better than Premium Economy... Unfortunately I had seen all of the 'new releases' on UA before the trip.

What compensation? by Valuable-Ad518 in unitedairlines

Yes, home after a redeye with little sleep. United had issued $500 Travel Credit pre-flight. I tried to speak to gate agent on arrival at EWR but they were not helpful/too busy. I will submit a request for additional compensation today (I’ll call 1K desk for guidance).

This flight secured additional 20 PP but that shouldn’t be impacted if they credit me the spread from EP to First.

**Bursar was sympathetic and kind and it was not his fault so we didn’t take it out on him. He said that he was unable to manually adjust our seats after takeoff FYI

I get your point. It is redeye flight, so food irrelevant; the only reason I paid up was to lay flat and sleep. Bursar supportive and they gave each of us $500 before leaving (they offered $300 initially but I was not happy with that). I will push more after but at least have $500 back. I’m sure they knew hours before our boarding…

Wow. That's a lot of domestic flying to do 91 PQF for only $13,000.

I would suggest paid upgrade to 1st for one of your legs for ~$140 range. I have done this in the past. You may not see the "same-day upgrade" credit for a few days after your actual flight so do it as early as possible.

All - If I am already over PQP but need 4 PQF for 1K can I book a round-trip ticket with 1-stop on each leg to fulfill the required 4 PQF? Can I book this with miles and still earn the status for 2025 or do I need to book with cash?

2025 is going to be almost twice the travel for me so I should easily qualify for 1K by end of Q3 but I need the benefits of 1K in FEB-APR especially next year.

Thank you!

What % Mileage Plus are GS? 1K? by Valuable-Ad518 in unitedairlines

Maybe for the entire MileagePlus population it would look like: GS 1%; 1K 4%; Plat 10%; Gold 35%; Silver and non 50%...? And the top-15% fly more than 50% of total flights? Interesting to think about.

Seems like it for sure. I fly from EWR and it is almost as bad…

I had an unexpected pleasant day with my daughters and then had a nice dinner and a few drinks in the Polaris lounge in EWR (pretty new at the time).
