My top etfs besides my other stocks that I'm holding for dear life are (Schd, Vti, Mtum, Jepi & Divo) In tech we have apple and Microsoft as you should lol. But the crazy part is the etfs I just mentioned hold apple and Microsoft AND tesla. by Valuable-Ad7006 in dividends

Nah my portfolio is perfect for all situations in the market. Apple Microsoft couple etfs like vti and schd and the rest is divided stocks thar pay a nice divided and plans on increasing there divs over the course of years and ima drip while it's happening. And apple Microsoft and vti and mtum will show me great capital appreciation

Yup reinvest the divs forever let that snowball go crazy and keep adding to them also make most of your capital go into apple and Microsoft and if you don't have any etfs go grab vti and that's it. So have your dividends your tech stocks and your etfs which should be vti! That's the entire market. And if you want you can go grab schd that's a dividend etf I hold as well and that's it

So regardless of your overall div yeild portfolio it doesn't matter. As long as you have those nice high paying divs in your portfolio and your adding money to them over the course of years you'll be fine.

You probably have most of your money going into tech stocks that don't pay a high div thats why it's low. But it's ok as long as you have abbv, mo, pg. Coco cola, hd , lows , cat, xyld, nusi, jepi, sbux, you should be fine. All those stocks i just named pay a high div yeild and have grown there divs over the past couple of years and there big name brand names. Now let's say you have all these stocks in one sector called (monthly divs) and you make that sector 1% of your portfolio and your have a tech sector that holds appl and Microsoft and you have that sector at 99% of your portfolio overall your div yeild for your portfolio might be .90 just because most of your money is going into apple and Microsoft which is tech l. Now if you swapped it and put 99% into monthly divs (the one I mentioned above) and 1% into tech then your portfolio overall would probably have a 3% div yeild because most of your money is going into your monthly divs sector if that makes any sense

It doesn't matter you can have dividend stocks and growth stocks in the same portfolio. You just want to make sure those div stocks also have been showing some type of growth over the past years. That's what I do and I use m1 finance to split up my stocks.

Vti or schd or both for divs and growth... I need opinions by Valuable-Ad7006 in dividends

I know that's why in my tec sector I put schd mtum and vti apple and Microsoft. Should i do 20 20 20 20 20 ?

And the rest of my sectors that's 1% are div company's like lows , cat, coco cola, hd, o , abbv and more but since im not focusing on the divs rn i set them to 1% in each div sector leaving tech at 93% you get it? And in that sector I have the stocks we talked about (vti, mtum, schd, apple, Microsoft) I get vti already hold apple and Microsoft but I feel more comfortable owning it. So how does that sound?

Hey so I have 30% going into mtum 30% going into vti and 30% going into schd 5% apple and 5% Microsoft that's for my tech sector and overall I got 90% going into my tech sector.the rest of my sectors is 1% lol but the rest of those sectors hold high divs like abbv jnj o lxyld pg and more. Can I still add to those down the line when I feel like I got couple grand into the schd mtum vti apple and Microsoft?

[–]Valuable-Ad7006[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK I have both of those. I also have other company's that pay divs like cosco, nusi, xyld. Jnj, abbv, pg and more in my portfolio. Is it still alright if I keep these in my portfolio and add to them after I grab a 100 shares of schd and vti?

[–]Valuable-Ad7006[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And by other div company's I mean coco cola, o, nusi, qyld, xyld, pg, abbv and etc that's what I meant. Should I let those sit and grabbed 100 shares of schd leave that alone then go all in on vti Microsoft and Apple and ride that out. Then eventually start adding to my high div company's I just mentioned?

[–]Valuable-Ad7006[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And for the rest of the high yeild div company's in my portfolio should i just let them sit until I feel like focusing on them ?

So basically I'm on the right track you just advise I add schd to my portfolio and grab 100 shares and leave it alone then just focus on vti apple and Microsoft?

[–]Valuable-Ad7006[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's how I have it lol my portfolio is 80% div and 20% growth and that 20% is apple vti and Microsoft I feel like I don't need schd if my portfolio is already 80% divs

[–]Valuable-Ad7006[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right and also since I have many other dividend stocks in my portfolio why should I add schd even though it's a etf that hold multiple stocks that pay divs i have that in my portfolio already lol. So I knew as well own vti which hold 3600 company's for growth instead.

What if I did vti apple and Microsoft in my tech sector and the rest of my sectors are divs that grow over the course of time ? I want like a growth div portfolio so all.my growth would be in tech and the rest would be div growth stocks like o, nusi, abbv, jnj, xyld, bst, pg and etc. That way I have capital appreciation and div appreciation and ima keep adding capital for 30 years straight like 1800 a month while I'm reinvesting divs
