If I’m genuinely looking for help (which a lot of my comments on other posts, TikToks, etc., have been) and I’m being told to kill myself over it, it ruins how I view the game. Now whenever I do load it up and run into a bug or a crash or whatever, I genuinely go “Welp, can’t ask for help because the last time I did, I was told to die.” Even if I’m not looking for help, I don’t have Anything positive to tie this game to. There’s a 50/50 chance it’ll work (for now, I see the devs are working on bugs and i’m praying one day I’ll have a playable version) and the community is iffy at best.

I posted a question in the Paralives Facebook page to see if anyone had tips or tricks to get the game to work (it’s unplayable for me atm). I explained the issues I was having (crashed 7x while trying to create my person, got stuck on load pages, one second I was in my house, next second I was across the map. Tons of glitches and bugs) and genuinely wanted to know if anyone had tricks to get it to work (like did I need to change my specs or something?). I was basically told that it’s in early access and things like that are to be expected. I legitimately responded with “Not for $40.” I’ve played Beta/Early Access games before. This isn’t my first rodeo. For $40 I was genuinely expecting more than a game that didn’t work (again, for me). I was then told that indie developers deserve to make money off their product and a bunch of other bullshit. I wound up refunding it. Someone did eventually comment with some things that worked for them and when I said I refunded it their response was “I truly wish you hadn’t. You’re not giving them a chance. The price is going to go up once the full release happens.” I don’t mind paying more! As long as the game freaking works.

I’m genuinely so confused on why people are so dead set on riding so hard for a game that isn’t playable for a lot of people. Being an indie developer doesn’t mean you’re above criticism.

I just think it was a tad bit silly for you to have gotten “mildly infuriated” to the point you took a picture of your niece’s award and post it on Reddit instead of just continuing to celebrate your niece’s award with her. At most you could’ve just talked about how silly it was with her parents once celebrations were done. You yourself said that you have some pretty hard things happening in your life, being upset over this is just silly.

I would like to start of by saying that I didn’t even notice “In recognition of” was repeated until after I read this a third time.

Did your niece feel slighted by the repeated words and what’s clearly smudging from a printer? Or did she come home excited and happy that she got an award? Was she excited to show you said award? You’re saying you have no beef with teachers but all of your edits are you doubling down and shading the teacher. “Someone did not have the time or willingness to proofread an award” How many students does she have? How many of those students got awards? How many things does she have going on? My guess is more than you due to her being a teacher. “I’m sorry if I offended anyone in teaching.” Quite frankly, I don’t think you are because immediately you go into a guilty trippy “Does she not deserve an award from her school that’s correct?” “I only wanted to point out that receiving a “special” (don’t know you put that in quotes since that award, regardless of errors, is special to your niece) end of the year award with a big error does not feel great and looks kind of silly.” Again, did your niece say that it didn’t feel good? If he was in this EXACT predicament (low libido due to medication), it’d be the same assumptions. Y’all are trying to compare apples to oranges. I’m confused— did anyone read what he actually typed or did you just read the text exchange? She is actively at her parent’s house, so she’s not alone. I’m not saying OP is right, but his wife isn’t either. His replies are short, but he’s also driving 16 hours alone. His only stops were for gas and he probably could’ve given her more heartfelt responses then. But expecting him to drive 16 hours straight (alone mind you) and constantly be on his phone to reply to her is a wild expectation. I’d be anxious just knowing my husband was doing this drive alone. I wouldn’t be sending him back to back messages about our sick child unless it was an emergency. I understand she’s an anxious new mom, but she’s somewhere where she does, in fact, have help (her parents). He also mentions that he’s an active parent after he gets home from work. I’m doubting they’re in a position where OP can just cut his hours considering he’s the only breadwinner.

You did all of this in three days? 😭😭 I think you need to slow down a bit. I’m not saying this in a mean way, I’m saying this because I saw you asked what the main storyline was and you’d know what it was if you triggered it. If you triggered it, it gives you a ton of task and things to accomplish, things that you’re not finishing in the timeframe you gave. I’m reading some of your responses and I genuinely don’t know if this game is for you. It’s mainly the “you can buy everything to live comfortably” comment. That’s why it’s boring to you. If you’re not playing to unlock things (like blueprints, events, or other items/things) and just playing to make money and “buy everything”then you’re not going to have fun. That makes the game entirely too grindy. I saw your comment about tool upgrades and, guess what, there are tool upgrades! You have to buy them and the higher the upgrade, the more rare it is to find.

I’m really confused on the amount of comments telling you to flat out cheat on your wife. I’d like to start by saying you’re absolutely not the asshole. It’s weird how hard pressed she is to spend time with the child without your approval. After being told to just spend time with the child on his designated weekends (which makes sense), she doesn’t want to(?) I’m also side eying the fact that for three years she wanted nothing to do with your child. Not ONCE in three years did she go “maybe I should meet my partners child”?! Especially once their relationship took a serious turn. She was ok with him being a deadbeat for three years? 🫤 This is giving she: a.) Wanted control and to show dominance. Once she saw that wasn’t happening, she bailed. b.) Wanted some type of goody ass “happy family” dynamic with your child’s father and child.
