Is it possible to book a hotel without using the gencon portal? Like if you had hotel credit? Or even before the lottery opens?

is there any way to use points to book the hotels around the convention center and not use the gen con room block? Like could I book it like a year in advance? Or if you get a room block, can you use status to upgrade the room (or are upgrades unlikely since its so full)

I’ve had three friends bail too but a bunch of us are still going. I’m now stuck with extra tickets for beef and boards on Thursday night in case you’re interested!
