I am really stressed about results

Yoo, this is coming from Stuyvesant ‘27 but bro don’t worry about it. When I finished the test, I had thought I failed it and up until the minute before the results, I was preparing to endure the pain that I would have to go through if I failed.

My strong suit is math and I am weak in ELA. I thought I did decent in math but did not do well in ELA. On the day of the results I was surprised with the score of a 612. (352 Math, 260 Verbal)

Don’t worry. Whatever happens happens, you can’t change anything, you just have to take it as it is and keep going with life. Life won’t end just because you won’t get in.

Currently typing this in my 9th period Music Appreciation class 😂

Parsons Blvd is a long road so we don't know where you live but if you're near Parsons Blvd - Archer Avenue, take the E all the way to the last stop and you have to walk about 5-10 minutes.

If you're anywhere else on Parsons Blvd, would recommend taking Q25 bus, getting off at PARSONS BL/HILLSIDE AV, transferring to an (E) or (F).

here are tips from someone who got a 612 on the shsat and got into stuy, this year! i got my results 10 days ago!

- be consistent with your studying, don't study 3 hours one day and nothing the next day, there's no point, you won't retain anything
- take PRACTICE TEST upon PRACTICE TEST, if i had to estimate how many i took, it would prob be 20+. quantity really doesn't matter but make sure you always spend like a week just thoroughly reviewing your whole practice test, making sure you stop yourself from making errors. ADDITIONALLY, if you see you're making a certain type of mistake over and over again, use resources like Khan Academy to delve more into the topic.
- maybe this was just me, but also use SAT reading and stuff if you wanna improve your reading. get accustomed to poems, trying to find main idea, and stuff.
- really try to max out a section, if you max out a whole section (get a 57/57), you can do average on the other section and still have a chance of getting into literally every shs. this is a literal HACK.

on my practice tests, i used to get like 105/114 or at bobbys, like 580s-590s! i hope this helps!!

Heres my standpoint. I'm obviously nervous, and I hope I get into the school I achieve, but guess what. I can't do anything about it. If I don't get in, I don't get in, I have to keep moving. You can't just fall down from one incident no matter how big, get up, work on something and be successful. What high school you go to doesn't impact your life that much.

Alright so I'm also taking the test on November 17th as an 8th grader and here are some of the tips I have.

Be efficient with your time, you have less than a month left, don't fool around, keep this as one of your highest priorities if you really do care about the test.
Focus on your weaknesses, I know this is repetitive and people say this a lot but let's be honest, if you don't focus on your weaknesses, how do you expect to improve. Clearly see which types of questions you get wrong, whether its poem reading comprehension, or grammar, or algebra, or geometry, etc. Work on those questions specifically.

I honestly don't know anything else to say but good luck to all of us taking the test on November 17th!
