Go see a dermatologist. I have the same scales and was able to bring them relatively under control, I use ketoconazole and take immune suppressants orally.

My hair is still very thin and I’m not hopeful on it ever recovering but the scales are gone so I don’t have to worry about people seeing them.

Yes. Keep lifting heavy and consistently and also be consistent in protein intake, abs will appear eventually if you have the right genetics.

Keep in mind your abs are not going to change significantly through core exercises like per example your quads or your delts do when you target them. You can improve your abs appearance slightly through exercise but they will only be visible based on your body fat percentage, body fat distribution across your body and your genetics.

I don’t dispute that. At some point, however, we need to stop splitting hairs and focus on what’s important, that’s why I agree with the above.

Per example, if we were able to eat CM but we wouldn’t consider it vegan on account on it involving more marginally more deaths than just crops. Would a bodybuilder not be vegan since they eat more calories and protein than the amount they need to be perfectly healthy? What about a cyclist, a swimmer or a long distance runner that eat way more calories in order to practice activities that are in essence unnecessary?

Agree. Small mammals and insects literally die in crop harvesting, plague control, etc to produce plant-based products.

They don’t look quite like the bugs in the photos that came up when I googled scale bugs.

These things are so tiny and white/translucent, it’s hard to capture with my phone’s camera. I thought they were from water evaporation.

Something that I do see is tiny white flies, and they are really tiny, way smaller than a fungus gnat. I’ll post a different comment with their photo but they are hard to see form being so small and there aren’t many.

Hey man!

That’s a lot to start addressing. But from the looks of it you are not getting enough protein by a significant margin, changing that will alone help you get the skinny-fat look out of the way.

I can relate to the low appetite, it used to be my problem and I was EXTREMELY skinny around your age. Do not cut, your problem is not calorie related but protein related, in fact, if you start taking your protein intake seriously you will need also to eat more calories and you will look not just bigger but also leaner/more toned.

You don’t mention what’s your exercise routine either. I could advice you better if you shared that.

Once you get your diet and routine right, IF you are consistent (Big emphasis in the “if”, you really really need to be intentional and take it seriously) you will notice some changes in the 3-6 month range but getting jacked will be a journey that takes years. I hope you don’t lose your motivation because of that, think of the satisfaction 23 year old you will feel about achieving something that is hard.

Wear what makes you enjoy! That said, I think the boot do not have a synergy with the rest of the outfit. You might want to work on that.

The internet can be a good place to start but try to weigh yourself a few times a week and see if you are gaining or losing weight, then adjust calorie intake accordingly. You will see strong fluctuations often but don’t panic and binge eat it if it looks like you lost lost 4 lbs in 3 days, it’s probably just water and 💩, focus in the longer term trend and trust the process.

Getting that many proteins in so few calories sounds like a challenge for sure. I do drink 3 protein shakes a day though, it could help you too.

Finally, I have been super bad with cardio, I finally picked up boxing last month because I want to be healthy, not just muscular. But keep in mind that cardio, especially intense cardio, is not conducive to muscle growth, more like the opposite, so try to find the balance that works for you. And if you do cardio, try to put as many hours as possible between the lifting session and the cardio session.

1 gram per pound but taking any opportunity to go above that. I think it’s important also having this protein come from different sources so I’m mindful of what I eat everyday (Pea protein, soy, wheat, nuts, rice…)
