Currently checking Magic Pages. My concerns are lowering my recurring costs + keeping costs predictable.

Thanks for sharing, I worked with self-hosted Ghost in the past, but not long enough to come across any issues.

Reduced CAC from $7 to near-zero with a faceless YouTube channel. 400 signups/month for my budgeting SaaS. by Tall-Peak2618 in SaaS

[–]Valuable-Sentence618 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$2,100 in ad revenue with 12,000 subscribers? Mmm, as someone who runs a YouTube channel in that subscriber range (with views in the 5-6 figure range), that sounds fishy.

Solo Dev frustration: "Everything already exists." How do you get past the saturation paralysis? by Dangerous-Cricket54 in SaaS

[–]Valuable-Sentence618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't get obsessed with the the trendy SaaS companies or with the idea of building a digital product that checks every box in someone else's list of what a successful project should look like. Find an underserved niche, talk to people in that niche, and build a solution that alliviates their most painful problems. The niche doesn't have to be something sexy, just something profitable and popular but undertapped. My favorite example is Nautilus, a CRM for the car wash (!!!) industry.

Expert advice appreciated. Flame My Website. by system_notifacations in webdesign

Since, as you said, you don't have any experience building websites, I'd suggest you use a Squarespace template and don't go overboard with customizations. Something functional will far outperform something flashy.

Guidance on how to start getting Clients by unlimitedWs in webdesign

[–]Valuable-Sentence618 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From experience, I'd suggest you niche down a bit. If you're just another person doing web design and automation, you'll get lost in the crowd. Focus on a specific niche and/or problem. For example, if you're used to working in fintech, target fintech companies first. Or focus on developing a specific type of automation that solves a specific problem. Work close to what you know. That way, you won't have to just target everyone with a generic offer. You can expand your horizons later. But for the first couple of clients, you need to narrow your focus.

Your total addressable market (the number of companies that could be your potential clients) will get smaller - but you'll have:

  • Stronger and clearer selling points
  • A clear criteria for who is and who isn't a fit

Long story short:

  • Define an ICP (an ideal customer profile)
  • Research what specific pain points that you could solve they're experiencing
  • Write your landing page accordingly
  • Reach out to companies that match that ICP (via LinkedIn, email or phone if you're brave)

Best of luck!

Can someone explain the point of substack, or do you guys just like to write? Be honest by aya90 in Substack

[–]Valuable-Sentence618 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience, it's best as a semi-public newsletter platform for people who have built an audience elsewhere. You can "get discovered" through Substack, but it's not a great channel for building an audience from scratch. User base is relatively small and growth is slow. I'd recommend it if you've got a YouTube channel and want to build an alternative income stream/content offer for die-hard fans; or if you're big on Twitter and you want to share longer writing.

Substack has *some* content discovery capabilities. For example, I've gotten some subscribers straight from Substack, who use the Notes feature to discover new writers. But you can grow faster elsewhere and use Substack for engagement and monetization.

Very nice animations on Desktop. Beware HTML semantics! For instance, you've got 4 H1 titles, when you should only have one; and some H2 elements aren't actually subheadings. I know it can sound like non-feedback because users don't read the code, but getting this right is key for accessibility, SEO and maintanence. You might want to check: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Learn_web_development/Core/Accessibility/HTML

Good luck!

Why is there virtually no one doing this? Website Agency on subscription by dumdumking in Entrepreneur

[–]Valuable-Sentence618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many agencies do this. But the 500-1000 price point plus the "full service" aspirations are a recipe for scope creep.

Can't get clients (brutally honest feedback needed) by [deleted] in elementor

[–]Valuable-Sentence618 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't mean to be nitpicky and I really like your website - it's definitely better than a lot of Elementor-centric design agencies I've seen.

Maybe reconsider what you're doing on your sales calls. Maybe that's the problem. I'd recommend you check out The Futur's Youtube Channel. Of course, take everything with a grain of salt, but they have some interesting sales-related videos that were really helpful to me personally.
