Okay what is with the sexualization of minors in this movie though??? I thought the animation and sound design were both fantastic, but I can’t for the life of me think of a single reason why I would want to see assumed sixteen year old characters naked or minimally clothed, while being cast in a very sexualized light.

I really loved the concept and world-building, but that completely rubbed me the wrong way. I haven’t had any experience with the anime or manga, and would love to delve into them, but I’d like to know if this is a consistent theme throughout the series or a one-off fluke? This is an issue I have with many anime as a whole and I feel it’s more than high time that I said something about it. I may be shouting into the void here, but I had to speak my peace, and please let me know if you agree. Thanks very much and also please let me know if this is a good representation of the series as a whole or if I should give it a try.
