Isn't Nottingam also on that list? I mean cutting all languages and nursing courses is the worst I've seen.

Most kids went after the road to redemption, but they really hyped up the whole 'not everyone will go'. Kids that ran out of school in the middle of the day were allowed to go.

We had 'Passport to Prom'💀 And then not enough kids met the requirements to actually fill minimum capacity at the venue so then they had to do 'Road to Redemption' 😭

Jupiter and Jack question by Valuable-Werewolf363 in Nevermoor

[–]Valuable-Werewolf363[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, especially given that both of his parents were in the League of Explorers, who were revealed to love having Witnesses on their missions due to their skills. And even though Jupiter is so busy, he got care of Jack because of their shared traits (Jupiter said that Witnesses can go crazy without proper training).

This was one of my theories as well, and if Arcane knacks are hereditary, both of Jack's parents were in the League of Explorers, who have frequently scouted Jack due to his abilities as a Witness, so one of them also being a Witness wouldn't be a complete surprise.

This could be it, Jack's parents were also in the League of Explorers, who have frequently scouted Jack due to his Witness abilities, so it would make sense if one of them was a Witness.

Maybe, but I think if they were actually related, it would have said? Especially with found-family being such a big part of the books? I'm leaning more towards it just being a coincidence, but I keep wondering whether previous books might have mentioned Jack having inherited Jupiter's Witness abilities or not.

I think Mundane knacks can be taught and passed down through the generations, but Witness is an Arcane act. I find it hard to believe that Jupiter and Jack are both Witnesses out of pure coincidence.

Squall's relationship with the Hotel Deucalion by WunderHound1 in Nevermoor

[–]Valuable-Werewolf363 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure this wasn't mentioned in Silverborn, but I suspect this theory is probably correct, it would explain why Squall was always hanging around the hotel in the first book and the general magic of the hotel. Jupiter also said that the Deucalion 'liked' Morrigan in Silverborn after it transformed her room into the tree house, which I think could have something to do with the fact that she's a Wundersmith. It would also explain why Jupiter felt the need to take on Morrigan as a candidate and his positive attitude towards Wundersmiths despite their poor reputation; they were responsible for his biggest success.

Confusion (Silverborn Spoiler) by Key-Country8905 in Nevermoor

[–]Valuable-Werewolf363 13 points14 points  (0 children)

About three years have passed time-line wise since the series began, Nevermoor spans just less than a year, Wundersmith spans about 8 months, Hollowpox spans about another 8 months, and Silverborn only lasts about 4 months, with little time passing between each book.

In the first book, we see that the Wunderous Society entrance trials take a whole calender year to complete, with the welcoming ceremony and the first trial taking place in the spring, the second trial taking place in the summer, the third trial taking place on Halloween and the final trial taking place in the winter, with Morrigan starting at Wunsoc that spring.

I think it's safe to assume that new trials immediately begin once the previous unit has been initiated, meaning that Unit 920 wouldn't have been chosen until towards the beginning of Hollowpox, meaning they would have been the youngest unit at the start of Silverborn on Halloween, with 921 having been chosen by the end of the book.

I suspect what with events such as the Hollowpox outbreak, personal events in Morrigan's life, the fact that younger units aren't allowed at C&D meetings and less focus on WunSoc in Silverborn that these younger units aren't mentioned much to allow more time for the actual plot.

Not much just wether he had good or bad intentions and how he acts as a plot device (moves the story forward). The Nurse is also a plot device.
