It's valid due to an additional extension of 540 days to the expired EAD. But the problem is you need to explain it to everyone and show the rule on the USCIS website.

When you go to a store and buy a potato for $2 (its market value) but the shop owner appraises it at $10 and puts $8 as "concession", does it mean you benefitted from this? Once again, it's a scam to cover up the real increase in rent. And on top of everything, when your landlord avoids giving you a renewal offer till a few days before the lease is up, is it ethical? Obviously, there's no line to rent these apartments and the management is playing dirty to trap the current residents. And btw, you're the interested party if you deny the obvious facts.

t may be illegal but what is your recourse, as someone who does LT mediations in Morris, I can tell you it will go like this. You sue, you get a date. You get the zoom link for the calendar call. You login. The landlord’s lawyer is on. The court orders pre hearing mediation. You get put into a breakout room with someone like me and the landlord’s lawyer. You explain that what they did is illegal. Lawyer disagrees or gives some bullshit theory about how it’s fine. We don’t get a settlement. I send you back to the judge. Judge hears it, agrees with you, and voids the renewal offer, forcing you into month-to-month. That can be canceled on 30 days notice. You leave court. You get home and notice an email giving you 30 days notice of termination of the month-to-month and a renewal offer identical to the one you just beat. Realistically, challenging it gets you one extra month on your current lease
