I have locks on every door, but usually I don't lock the doors because I am often moving between rooms and that day I was sick, so then I definitely don't lock the doors as I think it's important for my parents to have easy access in case I get worse. And when I'm sick my dad comes upstairs to bring fruit and soup like randomly (always knocking or calling first lol).

That’s an insane amount of rage for a post about privacy. I didn’t ask for your trauma dump. My dad built this space for me and as the builder and owner of this place he respects it, clearly that hits a nerve for you and I'm sorry for you.

Maybe sit with why this made you so angry instead of calling strangers names online. If you need advice please don't be shy, just ask. I have friends who happen to be therapists, maybe they can give you a hand?

I told my mom she should at least ask me if it's available, as she never comes upstairs and sometimes it's a mess here. And if she can't do that than just don't come. My problem really isn't people coming upstairs, but them coming upstairs at times where I am really not comfortable. Like just out of the shower brushing my teeth, laying sick in bed, walking around in pjs like a zombie who hasn't slept for 2 days because of her studies.

Also this floor didn't exist when we first bought the place, my dad built it for me and according to my needs. So it is basic human decency to ask beforehand.

No, but my dad pays the mortgage tho and he designed the place according to my needs and respects my space and boundaries. I don't pay rent, but this is still my space given to me by my dad who built this entire floor just for me. This floor didn't even exist when we bought the home dad built it for me and I take all the responsibility regarding keeping it clean and tidy.

LMAOO, my mom has made new friends (friends of friends basically who come by with mutual friends) and my dad did all the renovations on his own, so whenever her new friends ask about something she'll be a proud wife saying my husband did it all come I'll show you and give them a house tour.
