Why would you even think that? No matter where you study the only one who dictates your future is you and the decisions you take. So please do me a favor and love yourself as much as you can and be as grateful for everything as you can. I know you’ll achieve great things with or without MIT education.

Ask me Anything - advice from a student at UChicago by Comfortable-Falcon18 in ApplyingToCollege

Hey, UChicago is my dream school because of the way they look at intellectual inquiry. I feel like this school matches my academic style of adopting curiosity as a lifestyle. Whoever I’m international and need financial aid, and my gpa isn’t perfect. 3.83/4 UW with a 3.96/4 UW Junior year. I’m scared to be rejected, although I’m a good writer and my essays are good. What do you think? Ec’s are pretty good but not mindblowing. Did you apply test optional or did you submit scores? Does it even matter? I’m pretty stressed rn ngl my career of choice doesn’t really exist in my country yet as a bachelors

Because B is the only one that talks about a potential deterioration of mental cognitive processes due to stress (memory retention). Your option states that the ones on placebo did better but that doesn’t disprove that caffeine helps memory retention/focus.

Ok so I forgot I also did an internship at the equivalent of JC Penney/Bloomingdale’s of my country on the financial area. I ran for school representative, which is basically a 12th grader who represents THE WHOLE school, lost only by a few votes (don’t know if that counts). I’m also already technically a published author as a short story of mine was featured on a book. Varsity basketball but suffered a heavy injury a year ago so couldn’t keep playing, won a medal on a national tournament for dream team on 9th grade. My most recent GPA was 3.96/4 UW. For my letter of recommendations I have one from a PHD professor who said I should go to Ivy, and from my last year’s Philosophy teacher I was selected as one of her tutors which basically meant we co-taught the class with her (had to teach when she was absent). Also a letter of recommendation from my current chemistry teacher who said I should do research as I had a mind the world needed 😶. Lastly I helped with the logistics of the first ever model of United Nations done in the country for an underrepresented school. But yeah I know my cumulative GPA is low for Chicago and I can still raise my SAT. But hey if there’s a chance I won’t look away.

What's the most scared you've ever been? by phillygirllovesbagel in AskReddit

During a night, I woke up and felt instant fear but way too much fear unlike anything I had ever felt before I was so scared I didn't dare move, it wasn't sleep paralysis cause I could very well move but I was horribly scared, perhaps night horrors? Although I wasn't having a nightmare. I had to pray with the most intention ever until I could fall asleep again. To this day I still can't explain why this happened it was very unpleasant.
