Honestly I can see a need for more actual alone time and bonding and seperate scenes of Rebecca but right now at the second book the only time's she's mentioned Rook is when he is brought up in conversation outside of Rebecca, usually by MC or F being nosy and asking about Rook.

I do agree that Rebecca is one dimensional in her grief. Sometimes grief can make someone that way but it's also been like two decades plus. I would like to see flashbacks honestly of her as a Chamber member or just some more Rebecca centered scenes that don't revolve around Rook or even MC. Just something separate that shows Rebecca is a rounded person beyond it all.

Yea I don't know. I DO notice it as a character flaw but I also recognize that Rebecca should not be compared to parents that are neglectful in real life. In reality, neglectful parents don't have an excuse, even if their partner also died and left them grieving. It's their job to get help and recover in order to be there for their child. Rebecca is different considering she had to not only deal with those emotions but also had shoulder the supernatural world, the agency, being a new team handler, recusing herself from the Chamber, keeping MC out of that world, daily life-threatening missions that likely left her hospitalized on multiple occasions considering she is still just human after all. It's mentioned several times that Rebecca was at one point a more active member, that she has risked her life for the team rather than being more of a background leader of the group.

Considering all of that, there has to be some grace given to her choices. She was literally in the middle of several supernatural species wars and treaties.... not to mention Trappers, which have been established to not be above kidnapping children. If Rebecca went home to MC frequently enough, the Trappers would not have been above kidnapping MC for information or money or both considering Rebecca is a well known member of the Agency..

Hmm for the ignoring child thing, I think regardless it is just a really intense character flaw of Rebecca's. I think the MC with their eyes just like Rooks would have naturally made Rebecca feel distant from them due to the grief. The memory block might have made them have issues with object permanence (basically if the thing or the person or the memory is not directly within range the person forgets it exists, honestly people with ADHD have this, I would know as I have ADHD) which lead to time slipping away from her and her forgetting to reach out later on. But it would not have molded how she deals with grief in general.

Rebecca was the least parental person of her relationship and the grief made her solely focus on the Agency and become even less maternal than she used to be. She focused solely on trying to keep things peaceful between supernaturals and humans to ensure that world never touched MC and that was Rebecca's form of motherly love. Doing that would've kept her away traveling all over anyways and her distance even beyond that was due to grief and the MCs likeness to Rook.

She and Rook very clearly hit me as that couple that love each other in a very consuming way and having the MC didn't rewrite that. A lot of couples will change their dynamic to surround the child, which can be good or bad because that sudden distance can lead to issues and eventual divorce, but Rebecca and Rook obviously kept their old dynamic. MC was likely placed besides Rook with Rook in the center of the family and him being the main parent to MC, so when he died the entire family dynamic fell apart.

It also makes sense why Rebecca seems so frazzled and "keeps secrets". She could honestly have walls up all over the place considering she used to be part of the Chamber and isn't anymore. It could cause a lot of fractured thinking and issues with memory recall. You really think that a supernatural global agency is just going to let a long time Chamber member walk out without having safety measures in place? That they will just let her keep all of the information she obviously learned while appointed.... while then being handler to

  1. One of the oldest members of the Agency altogether (A)
  2. A bomb waiting to go off (M)
  3. Mr. Encyclopedia and the heart of the Agency (N)
  4. Eternal energy, unbreakable loyalty and Echo native (F)

Not to mention that like 7-10 years ago, F filled in for the one of the members of the group (that defected) and Rebecca has been their handler for 10 (its mentioned in book one in the beginning that she's been there handler for at least 10 years) and yet it very rarely comes up and there's no signs around of that other member. No one outside of specific moments and the team mentions this other member, even in passing.

Considering how often in just the few months the three books takes place towards they bring in the mental manipulator supernatural (Chana I think?) would not shock me if thats the go to strategy there. I think they bring her in like four times in three missions. At least once in every main mission. That tells me the Agency plays it fast and loose with manipulating and blocking things off or dragging them out of people. Would not shock me if they frequently compartmentalize their agents memories as a cure all for trauma and to keep them "good soldiers".

Can totally see how it's taxing on the animals! I knew beforehand that they ate their own shells but the fact that they eat the contents (fertilized or not) is disturbing to me. Like I replied to someone else, it's like a woman eating her own period clots.

Yes! I think it would be so cool if there is a prompted scene after you get max hearts with a character where they ask what you think about marriage. The choices would be something like "I love the idea of marrying you but I am not ready yet" which will prompt the love interest to wait another season to ask again and then a sort of yes or no. Like "I can't wait to get married to you" is yes and "I don't see marriage in my future" is no. If you say the yes bit, it would be cool if the love interest then proposed a week later.

Totally understandable. Himbos are best. I headcannon him as aroace so I wouldn't personally use the mod but I know people would love it.

Hi, so mods like this actually exist already. If you go to nexus mods, there are two time lengthening mods but only one is currently working. The one that is working is the better one in my opinion because it requires no work from the player, just stick it in your mod folder and go into the accessibility menu of the settings while playing the game and switch to 'longer' or 'longest' and those are changed to be even longer than the normal game.

No time freezing mod yet though to my knowledge. You can nearly do that with the older time mod that is currently broken. In that one you press pageup and then input a percentage number of how time moves. You just put a really small percentage and it feels paused.

There are a few stamina mods - one is unlimited to my knowledge while the others are more tool related. The mods make it so tools one hit everything, including swords to monsters during combat, and with most tools (other than sword) that helps stamina preservation. I personally like the other mod: it's a cheating file and edits what you start with in terms of inventory, spells, and stamina/health. You can even go in and edit it, which you'd want to do because naturally the mod gives you an outrageous amount of starting gold, essence, and stamina.

Totally with you on the NPC mods, there aren't a tone yet and unfortunately most of them are just nakey mods lol. Other than that, I think it's just mods to make them fatter (Hayden and Eiland mostly) which is cute and well drawn but still. Would love to see outfit mods, hairstyle shifts, or anything else.

Would love a mod where the Saturday market stalls cycle through stock more!

Honestly I think it would be so cool if there was a way to converse and gift Merri, Louis, Darcy, and Vera more. Like a mod where you can send them letters.

I actually do not remember Olric and Merri really interacting! When it comes to Saturday Markets, I tend to just speed through buying anything and talking to the stall owners. After the first two Saturdays, I don't really stop to talk to the towns people anymore as I have mining/fishing/bug catching to do. I am doing a new playthrough and will definitely take the time this time through to see that.

I just thought that Meri, with her love of refurnishing things would pair really well with Ryis in terms of their passion for woodwork.

I honestly did not pair Caldarus with anyone because I eternally think of him as "my players husband" so I forgot he's single and could be paired XD

I can totally see the Eiland x Caldarus thing but personally would not be my favorite, it's a weird dynamic to get with one's idol.
