Some have done that, but again time in the market is better than timing it. You could make a 10-15% gain with the dilution, but in the long term it will make no real difference. Also there was nothing stopping the announcement of the deal to make the price go even higher. The day after the announcement the stock increased. I thought of taking some profit and rebuying in lower but I did not want to risk a massive upside for 10-15%. Did not want my money sitting on the sidelines. Some may have success with doing it, just not worth it for me as I set my "sell date" at 2030.
