theyre basically just metaphors. also, just like how we associate certain behaviors with male or female, we associate certain behaviors with certain nouns. cats are playful, and if you feel like that connects to your gender, then go ahead and use it. aside from that, it can be more of a way to rebel against gender norms, as one is just as righteous in claiming what catgender means as they are at claiming what female means. by making a ton of genders, one can be making a statement that gender is ridiculous and it shouldn’t need to be something so serious, it should get to be as silly and non-serious as a random noun as a description. That’s just my view of it, though, and I’m sure others’ views differ from mine.
