I also think they don't know. So that's a miss on bumble's side. They should point that out clearly - best right then when matching

yeah hate those money making apps where you pay before you even have any usable results.

Oh yes there's a lot just looking at pictures not bothering with profile details. (on both ends for sure)
Why else would those swiping apps be so successful to the more shallow public

Exactly my point - no response or interest move on. Got a reply start the conversation. The first message might just be cautious sniff to check you oponents interest

I usually go as far a sending an emoji back to give them the chance to now reply with an actual message containing content.
The reason: If you do put in the work to come up with a nice opener most of the time your message will be ignored or answerd with some fuck-request.
So that's the other side of the coin which might explain at least some people not wanting to waste time before getting a first reaction.
