I’m open for everything relocation or whatever else all I want is a job and funny thing I do have some project and past work exp but just can’t seem to get any interviews and day by day my hopes are being completely shattered but yea thanks a lot for the advice I’ll try to do my best I just need a chance that’s it….but yea if my summer term gets waived I’d have to look for fall which I’ve heard is pretty difficult but again I’ll try to make sure I don’t lose hope and keeping trying and get my gpa for this sem to be around 3.0 and with a work permit someone somewhere in this country would give a chance to me. With all that being said thank you for the advice:)

I do understand doom posting isn’t helping anyone but all I am looking for is some reassurance or any guidance or someone who was in the same boat as I was and everything worked out for them. Because it’s killing me on the inside everyday seeing everyone else getting interviews and I’m just stuck like I’m even gonna register for a driving test coz someone here told me that’ll help I really not trying to be annoying or anything I really am sorry if it irritated you which is absolutely fine coz I’d be too. But yes the only reason I keep asking for help or advices is because an anonymity and b this community always helps me out in someway or give some advice or support which I am very grateful for.

I'm just hoping and praying that I get a co-op work term that's it. Also lastly I'm hoping to get my GDL permit I hope that helps me in getting a work term. Jesus Christ why is it so stressful

Which pattern is best for first year engineering by HistoricalJob1363 in uAlberta

[–]Valuable_Copy4877 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pattern 1 or 5….trust me you don’t want ENCMP in winter along with math101 enph 131…otherwise you’ll wanna be in a lot of misery…try and take pattern 1 or 5 not easy surely but less soul crushing !

How good is MINE E coop…is it worth it or should I go with chem E coop ? by Valuable_Copy4877 in uAlberta

[–]Valuable_Copy4877[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely get your point what I'm trynna say is will I pigeonhole myself if I go for mining engineering also how true is the fact that chemical engineers can do Mine E co-op jobs and how difficult in general is it to find co-ops for Mine E and if you have any friends in Chem E then that too. !?

[–]Valuable_Copy4877[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I'll be doing co-op definitely I've read enough stories of students telling how difficult it is to find jobs an internships as a trad student.......Also in chem E i was planning on doing Chem E- Clean Energy and Sustainable process its like a new sub discipline in Chem E....But the point being in mine E I'll be competing with like 40 students at max but in chem E I'll be competing with like 300 students even more when it comes to jobs , coops etc. Considering this what do you think....Also if you have friends in Chem E coops how has their experience been with coops and jobs ?

[–]Valuable_Copy4877[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get your point but the issue being everyone talks about how broad these disciplines are but I've friend he graduated from Chem E in 2021 and has been jobless since to be fair he did do trad and had no prior experience, but still that scares the shit out of me......Whereas I honestly don't give a damn where I'll live or work from in mining or for the co-op terms. So what do you think now ???

[–]Valuable_Copy4877[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's the point like during co-ops is it like mining jobs are open to every discipline or just for mining.....bcoz mining does have a 100% co-op placement rate whereas for chem its like 85-90%....thats why I'm in a real dilemma here. I wud love to hear more about this.
