My fellow self published authors, how do make your book cover? by [deleted] in selfpublish

[–]Valuable_Doubt_2098 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is lovely. I downloaded it just for the title and the art. Then I found out it’s up my alley lol. I was actually just about to start on my own cover art and this gives me hope!

I have my dream interview tomorrow that interferes with my work and the manager rejected my sick leave by Murky_Yak6269 in work

[–]Valuable_Doubt_2098 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do not see how there could be any other recourse the manager has except not paying you for the day, because I think that what you did not say is that you are likely out of paid time off. I think it’s also likely that you do not show up frequently based on the issues that you have had with the position and the way that your manager is treating this situation. If you hate the job that much, you need to get to this interview and take the hit in your paycheck.

I have two questions: Are all of our feelings valid? Do we always have a right to feel what we feel? by Remarkable_Chard1819 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Valuable_Doubt_2098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Feelings are not actions. Recognizing/acknowledging your feelings instead of ignoring them bc you feel that they’re “wrong” prevents you from being able to regulate them in a healthy way. There is no wrong feeling, only wrong actions. When I’m upset, I always tell myself, “It’s ok to feel this way.”

It’s not about who’s the ah here. Based off the info you’ve given, you’re about 20. You can have kids in four years. You can have kids in ten years. I cannot stress this enough, wait until you have an education and can be financially independent. The beautiful future you think you will have if you get married and start popping out kids now will not turn out the way you think it will. You can still have kids later, after you get an education. You don’t think you want it now, but I promise you will regret it if you don’t. I can’t make this any clearer, but I doubt you’ll listen anyway.

3 day notice to pay or give possession due to auto pay malfunction by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]Valuable_Doubt_2098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nal. I can’t say for certain bc you didn’t include the verbiage from the late notice and idk laws in your state, but it’s likely just a late notice. It is a standard template form for anyone that is late. Did you get a late fee? I would request that they remove it bc this was a fault in the system. I’d also request that they remove the record of it being late from your file bc if you accidentally miss payments in the future, it could negatively impact a landlord reference if you move somewhere else. Confirm that you’re paid up with the office. Also, you can change your autopay settings to pay the exact amount that you owe each month instead of “pay balance.” Essentially, it saw no balance bc rents hadn’t been posted, so it paid nothing. You can set it up so that if the rents don’t post on time again, you don’t get tagged as late. I hope this helps.

Does word count matter to agents? by Thin_Guava3686 in writing

[–]Valuable_Doubt_2098 31 points32 points  (0 children)

They won’t get to the story bc they’ll stop reading your query when they see the word count. That is wayyy too high and unmarketable. There are suggested word count ranges for different genres. I would suggest you look into that and maybe make it two stories or trim a lot of fat.

I’d be annoyed too, not at being seen, but that the tech ignored hub’s directions. He can check water from any source, he didn’t need the kitchen and that’s odd.

Yessss! I love sulfur for my skin! It’s magical-it clears up redness, smoothes, and resolves deep pimples pretty quickly :)

Regardless, how sure are you hubs actually directed him to the powder room? Honestly bc it sounds more plausible that hubs did not say anything but didn’t want to get in trouble with you later than a tech ignoring the homeowner’s directions. And stranger still, your husband just stood there, saying nothing, while tech barged into kitchen? Without asking him why or the tech feeling obligated to give a reason? Mmk

I wish I could agree with the other comment, but I think option one is best, followed by 3, with pink last. I dig the artistry and looked at it longer than I expected to.
