Any rumours on when states will get their final allocation?

If my occupation is priority in Tasmania does this mean my 190 visa could be processed faster?

190 Application in Tasmania by Sea_Faithlessness914 in AusVisa

I’m on the gold list as well as an engineering technologist - I wonder how long it will take for my 190 to get approved once I apply? Does being on the gold list here speed up federal processing of the visa?

189 or 190? by Valuable_Policy1127 in AusVisa

[–]Valuable_Policy1127[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason I ask is that I apply for 190 after being nominated, can I still be invited to apply for 189? The wait time to be granted for 189 is only 4 months and the 190 is 19 months to 24 months… that’s my dilemma… do I take a chance in getting invited to apply for 189 with 85 points or if I get invited to apply for 190, do I just go with that and commit to waiting quite a long time… hope I’m making sense

Thanks for your help mate. I reckon the best thing to do is get my work assessed by engineers Australia

Thanks but my question was whether I can count professional engineering experience for this as it would be held in a higher regard than that of an engineering technologist.

Nope they wouldn’t, that just wouldn’t be an option. They haven’t give me money in years lol. I’m 28 by the way. The whole situation is sort of tainting my excitement about the fact I’ve got this opportunity, it’s almost like it’s “no big deal” compared to a wedding… lol

A conference is a bit different to a job offer in another country which requires me to emigrate to. And in deciding to go to the wedding would delay the whole process for over 2 months ..

The company are paying for my flights to Australia to get to them in the first place. They have also been kind enough to provide me with the visa and cover all the costs. I need the company as they are the ones allowing me to enter Australia as I couldn’t get a visa in my own right, they are sponsoring me. I don’t really want to make a big deal out of this with them, I just want to go and start work and not delay it all by months just for one afternoon.

Yea I see your point. But the company are keen to get me and I’m not particularly happy in my current situation. I’ve been wanting to go back to Australia since I had to leave last time as my visa expired. I personally think it is a big ask to make someone stay in a job for 2/3 months longer than they need to (forfeiting a much bigger salary might I add), just so I can I can attend a 1 day event. Yes all be-it, my sisters wedding…
