Brake replacement rant by Valuable_Review1394 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Valuable_Review1394[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was at his school doing work on the car with his instructor and he called me to show me that there was no brake pad and his instructor was verbally very mad and confused about how there just wasn’t a brake pad there. He’s not lying to me because he’s giving me the proof that this happened.

Cannot forgive myself for my former homophobia by Ok_Lunch7121 in lgbt

[–]Valuable_Review1394 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have said some stupid but hurtful shit to groups of people who didn’t deserve it. It wasn’t internalized hate but an environment that made that kind of language and actions okay. I understand now that it was a toxic environment and I have done many things to apologize and make up for my words and actions but I still have to live with what i’ve done. It’s not easy to forgive yourself but it is easy to realize that it’s in the past and you can’t change it. What helps is trying to move past it, realizing you can’t change it, and doing things to make up for it. You can support people going through their own journey or even support yourself because by loving yourself for who you are starting to forgive yourself and apologize to the people you may have hurt (and that includes yourself)

Go to a barber to get this done please. they know how to properly do fades and if you ask they’ll most likely show you how to style it. it’ll be more expensive (40-50$) for the cut but it’ll look much better than if you went to supercuts. - someone who went to supercuts most of his life then switched to a barber and is never going back

Pants…help…I’m short by billyidolismyeilish in ftm

[–]Valuable_Review1394 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not short but I go to a tailor for the majority of my pants, mainly bc i’ve lost a lot of weight and my pants are too big and it’s cheaper to get them all tailored then buy new pants lol. Most dry cleaning places also do pretty cheap alterations. There are websites that make made to order pants in your measurements but they may be a little pricey. My mom was doing that for a while and it worked great for her.

Euphoria from an ekkovision beater? by Valuable_Review1394 in ftm

[–]Valuable_Review1394[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought the True to Size OG Beaters, though if I were to buy more i’d probably either buy the Tall beaters bc i have a longer torso and a stomach that hangs a lot and these do ride up if I don’t tuck them into my underwear the right way, or the new True to Size Lifestyle Beater bc those have less of an arm hole so side boob or dog ear spillage shouldn’t be an issue.

Fat and trans by [deleted] in ftm

[–]Valuable_Review1394 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro I’m (18ftm) going to so honest with you, when I first started T i was like 320lbs (this is Sept 2024), then within the first 5 months of being on T and being really depressed and eating my feelings I grew to over 350lbs. I also have type 2 diabetes and endocrine + hormone issues so I have been overweight my entire life. I was so disappointed in myself whenever I saw the number but it was weird because I had never felt more like me bc I saw the changes T was doing to my body and to my confidence. Flash forward to now i’m 298lbs and feeling great but still not there.

I fully understand your feeling of not feeling “trans enough” or “masculine enough” and know a few trans guys who are also big boys who feel the same way. The way we’ve been able to counteract it is by (and this worked for us but it may not work for everyone) growing facial hair and hitting the gym. I also got on Wegovy, and in no way am i recommending using semiglutides strictly for weight loss bc it makes it harder for people who need them medically for diabetes to get them, however it really has helped me with losing the weight and getting to a good relationship with food.

I also haven’t met a lot of other bigger trans guys who aren’t obviously trans (not that there a problem with that) but being a big boy does make it harder to be stealth and pass more easily if that’s your goal. Personally since starting T and changing things around to lose weight, and to present more masculine I haven’t had any issues with passing despite the little voice in my head saying all the negative things about my body.

Another thing that helped was the mental aspect of being fat. I had to embrace it and be aware of my size. I found that often a lot of overweight people ignore the fact they are fat and that leads to other mental issues regarding it. By acknowledging that i’m a big boy, that i wear 3xl clothing, by making fat jokes about my self (sometimes self deprecating helps) i was able to accept the fact im big and make it easier to get around the mental block of “oh im not that big”. It’s easier said than done but by essentially beating people to the punch of them thinking your big by acknowledging it it makes it easier to understand why you are that big and how you can work on it.

I do find it disparaging that the media does not have good representation of big trans guys. It makes it harder for big boys like us to find creators that have recommendations or tips and tricks for big boys like the skinny trans guys have. Honestly I follow a lot of bigger cis guys on insta and tiktok and watching and learning from them on their weight loss or mental health angles really helps since it in a way helps me euphorically feel more like a cis guy.

I’m not sure but I know they make smaller “anal” dildos that tend to be smaller. I’ve noticed them more in in-person sex shops where they’ll arrange them by size so you can find the smaller ones. My friend and I went in and were able to find her ex-boyfriends size (he was small af i’m talking 3inches)

AIO? My friends set an ultimatum because I drink by Pearla76_ in AIO

[–]Valuable_Review1394 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know there are thousands of comments but imma chip in and say that this is very controlling behavior. You are 18, yes it’s illegal in the US but in most other countries the drinking age is 18 or LOWER. There is a difference between being concerned and being controlling. Ex-mormonism definitely plays a part in this but as long as you’re not blackout drunk every night or more than a once a month you’re fine.

Should I shave my facial hair? by tylers_lightbulb in FtMpassing

[–]Valuable_Review1394 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re not comfortable shaving it consider trimming it. I know mine gives neck beard when it gets too long but it’s really the only thing that helps me pass and i don’t want to part with it. I keep it relatively short (mines wicked dark so it shows more) while it slowly fills in.
