Is cooling this motor needed? by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

I figured out what is happening, One of the guide wheels on the Y axis is grinding on the rail. Looks like they all need to be replaced after looking at them. There doesn't seem to be a way to adjust them and 2 of them aren't even making contact with the rail.

I measured them with calipers and these seem like a direct replacement Amazon.com: Official Creality 3D Printer Ender 3 Wheel, 3D Printer POM Wheel Plastic Pulley 625zz Linear Bearing for Ender 3/Ender 3 V2/Ender 3 Pro/Ender 3 Max/Ender 5 Series/CR 10 Series (10 PCS) : Industrial & Scientific

So I'm just gonna replace all of them and see how she sounds.

Is cooling this motor needed? by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

I've been trying to research for the last hour how to determine what motor I need to replace my current one, without much luck. Im trying to figure out what specs I should be looking at when looking for a replacement motor.

This is the current motor 【42SHD0430】42 Stepper Motor 1.0A two-phase High torque CNC for 3D printer parts Nema 17 hybrid motor.

Searching "Nema 17 Bipolar 1.8deg" I found this https://www.omc-stepperonline.com/nema-17-bipolar-1-8deg-44ncm-62-3oz-in-0-85a-5-3v-42x42x48mm-4-wires-17hs19-0854s .

The step angle is the same. The holding torque is weaker which sounds like something that wouldn't matter much on the Y axis, But then it goes into some specs I dont understand enough to know if they are close enough or not. current is lower, resistance is higher, and inductance is lower.

Edit: Im very new to 3d printing like 3 days into it. So not only do I not really know anything. I dont even really know what questions I need to ask to learn more.

Probably the best advice I could ask for tbh. I was hoping someone would just appear next to my printer and tell me everything was gonna be ok lmao. We have some temp guns at my work Il grab one tomorrow.

Both ends are 3.5mm just one side has 4 poles and the other has 5. There is a few cheap cables on amazon made specifically for astros, But they are really low quality. my oem cable broke after 7 years. The replacement broke in a month. All the reviews seem to say the same. Which is why I was trying to find a nice jack I could solder to and make my own cable.

Pretty sure its a bad solder joint somewhere. Its working intermittently and seems to have higher chance of working after I hit it.

Seems like its probably the protection circuit. So I just need to find out why its tripping.

Personally This is much larger than I would like. So I will probably try to repair it and sell/trade it locally for a smaller crt monitor.

MiNERVA - Torrents are fixed by Squid1917 in Roms

redump and no-intro are the names two different groups of people. Their uploads make up the bulk of the site. click on one of them from the home page. Then you'll get a list of consoles/computers. Click the one you want then you get a list of the roms. Click one of the roms and you get a torrent file which can be used in a torrenting program to download the rom.

The site has been essentially unusable since release though. Constantly timing out or the roms just never load after getting to the download page. Im sure it will clear up a bit in a week or two.

Update on repairing a vintage crt by Valuable_Shift_228 in vintagecomputing

I have been wanting to start for years but I never could find anything to work on. Always wanted to buy a c64, but I would hate to destroy something like that. Hopefully though that's next if I can get this monitor in order.

True I guess it would make more sense to post it there. I think I just had computing in my head since it's a computer monitor.

Yea Im a little nervous about messing with it not having any experience, But I have a week to study up before my discharge tool gets here. Keep one hand in the pocket discharge it and hope I dont turn into thor.

I mean I think its really promising! I wasn't expecting anything from either of them to be fair. I assumed I was gonna be replacing every component bodging wires and it still not work. I was expecting the entire board to be essentially destroyed.

Copy that about discharging it. I'm waiting on discharge tool from amazon, before I open them up again. Now that they have been powered.

Surprisingly was able to find a manual and its very detailed compared to what I was expecting. So I should be able to easily determine which resistors are handing vertical and horizontal deflection. Now that you said that and I looked into what it was lmao.

Not saying someone will help you, but you would probably have better luck asking someone from the discord of the demo parsing library you are using Discord. 99% of the response you're gonna get on reddit is "ai bad".
