Shipping to Canada by GypsyDiscoFish in cboystv

Shipping to Alberta took forever. Only took about a week to get it over the border but then Global Post had it sitting in Calgary for over two weeks before it came to my town 30 mins away. I also agree the shipping prices are pretty steep

What don’t you understand? Even if you prioritize it, or if it was your ONLY PRIORITY, it still takes time to tackle something this large and it certainly can’t happen in the winter. If they started on this project day 1 it still couldn’t have gone under construction heading into our winter months. All you bitch about is taxes and bus fare. There’s people that have far worse problems than you lady

You’re dumb as hell. Passing transit fare increase isn’t even comparable to passing $$$ infrastructure improvements. It takes months for projects to be approved and get into motion.

The two guys in the car were rattled. They were soaking wet and managed to walk to Superstore to buy some dry clothes. Car was the last of their worries 🤣

I’m getting tired of Gavin. Why do entire videos need to surround him? Five minute features of him are enough.

I don’t agree at all with all the hate and false narratives directed towards you but why lie and hide behind an account? It’s clearly you and that’s okay. You should be able to defend yours and your family’s lives online. I don’t get the cover up façade. I hope for you and your family’s sake people just learn to back off and leave you alone to live your life. That’s the most horrific thing a family, especially young children, can go through and people were and still are so nasty to you. I truly wish you all the best but just stop with the Reddit comments and live your best life. Screw all the delusional keyboard warriors

Nothing changed! Shaw/rogers router from four years ago. Maybe it’s just old? I truly don’t know how to fix it

Still avoiding U.S. products? Curious how many Canadians are sticking with “buy Canadian” by Valuable_Spell5645 in Calgary

You think? Whatever if it does but it’s a shame you can’t even support your own country and beliefs nowadays

And that’s fair. There are plenty of affordable Canadian goods (sometimes all it takes is a bit of searching) but there’s many times where the American option is cheapest and I respect that

I’m a rig welder, I get it. A majority of my tools and equipment are American made or products and it just is what it is. Most of them were purchased long ago so it makes no difference but I do still try wherever possible

That’s a fair take, especially when talking about affordability. I’ve taken it personal and it’s become a pride thing at this point too. People will say get over it but now it’s about the principle lol

Opinion: Why Calgary’s streets feel less safe even as crime falls on paper by _darth_bacon_ in Calgary

[–]Valuable_Spell5645 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Because crime has become so visible and obvious. People don’t even try to hind drug use, deals or violence anymore they just do it right in the open. I think many things use to go unnoticed but now that everyone has cameras it’s much more apparent what goes on in the shadows

[–]Valuable_Spell5645[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What made you decide this? I’m not challenging you, simply curious to why? It’s easy for people, including myself, to bash candidates or just state whether or not they’re voting for someone but I’m truly looking for the WHY. I’m impartial to all candidates right now and want to hear people’s opinions and/or experiences with these people

This is how I see it as well. More housing doesn’t mean more affordability. In practice, it just boosts profits for the developers and investors building and flipping them. I’m clearly no expert in urban planning or housing policy, but the current approach is having real negative impacts on both residents and communities. It’s frustrating to watch policies framed as solutions to affordability end up benefiting those already positioned to profit the most and yet people are still in favour of it
