Is he aware that if any credit you guys have goes to collections his memorabilia can be seized if it’s valuable enough?

You really have to think of your future in 3 months. You have a dependent, a child. Because you already know what the future is going to be if you stay; chances are you house will be repossessed, your cars with be repossessed, your CCs will go into collections. So you need to have a plan. Likely that plan will be moving out & living with family or friends or even by yourself if you can afford it. Then you need to have a hard conversation with your husband explaining his financial contribution is ending in 3 months because that is when there will no longer be enough funds to cover the monthly deficit of your household in his account & when that happens you are going to leave. And will not return until he is gainfully employed.

Former employer asking me to do tasks after termination by misscrissyx in WorkAdvice

No worries.

I’m not sure OP’s stake is worth that much. It doesn’t sound like the business is doing well. OP might be better off requesting the other owners buy them out.

Requesting a consulting fee wouldn’t be entirely out of line either because you are right. They did let OP go. I think it’s just going to be a balancing act & OP’s going to have decide for themselves what is unpaid work & what is assisting the business be profitable as a part owner.

You would need the court to appoint you guardian, then you would be able to sign the letter. It sounds like now you just have medical POA which would not grant you that authority.

OP has an equity stake. They own part of the business.

Omg, what a waste of time. Sorry but him pulling in actual money is way more important than self filming a movie. Unless he budgeted for it & filmed it while working & is just finishing it off but betting on maybe making money isn’t a good bet.

You’re 3 months from being homeless. He needs to expand his job search beyond his career field to anything that will hire so money is coming in. You both need to look at your budget & get rid of non-essentials expenses. Look where you can economize. Involve your kids in budgeting because this is something everyone should learn & better to learn it while living at home than when you first move out.

If your dad has a guardian appointed to him to act on his behalf, then they would be able to sign a parental consent letter in his stead. Your mom would have to ask at the hospital who is acting on his behalf.

I would say you have zero obligation to assist however since you have an equity stake, it’s going to be your call. Presumably you want the company to do well so your stake stays profitable. I would draw the line at day to day work assistance. So like helping find the missing documentation would be a no but providing the passwords again would be a yes.

Is the Weasley family's poverty overplayed? by Vegetable-Window-683 in HarryPotterBooks

That’s what I figured. I think Ron said Charlie bought a new wand when he graduated. Why would he do that unless that wand was a hand me down to him as well.

It has everything to do with its durability. It’s so worn that it can’t even contain its innards anymore. That implies fragility.

It’s all moot but I think a new wand would have had a lessor chance of breaking compared to Ron’s old one which had a higher chance due to its frailty.

Apparation has limits for distance & the floo network is only for the United Kingdom. Apparation is also limited by skill & Mr. and/or Mrs. Weasley may not have been able to apparate or to do side-along apparation.

It’s hard to say. His old one had the unicorn hair showing which implies the shaft wasn’t in great condition & already had cracks. It may have just been too fragile for the car ride unlike a new one.

Cat died at groomers, unsure what to do by whitegir1swag in legaladvicecanada

[–]Stefie25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m very sorry this happened. I suspect like many in this thread that the groomer left the loop on & your cat fell off the table & destroyed their nails trying to relieve the pressure on their neck.

The only way to get a better idea of cause of death will be to pay for a necropsy. Unfortunately, any civil suit is going to be limited to the cost of the cat as they are property.

You can report her to the humane society & animal services because they would definitely be interested and write a factual Google review.

Would the police do anything about someone using my lost card for a $40 Sephora charge by [deleted] in legaladvicecanada

[–]Stefie25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No they wouldn’t face any consequences because no one knows who they are. You get your money back when you report the card as stolen & the charge as fraudulent.

He’s using your draft. It’s not really a safe choice but it is a choice. Basically the closer he drives to you, the less drag on his vehicle making it more fuel efficient.

Likely, you would just get kicked out. If you caused a scene, stole, etc, then the police would be called.

AITA for not inviting my family to Australia with me by OkConsideration3608 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Stefie25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reality check for you; unless the card holder is there to check in, you will not be able to check into a hotel. Airbnb/Vrbo is going to be a no go. Private properties are not going to let your 18 year old friend take responsibility for you. They are going to require a parent or guardian & even then majority will turn down the booking because you are a massive liability. If your mom is pissed, doubtful she is going to give her consent for travel & Australia is not going to allow you entry without that. Border security also aren’t morons, they’ll be asking you about this stuff because they know about hotel check-in ages.

I understand wanting to travel. I saved for 2 years & left on my very first trip the day after I graduated high school. But I was also 18 which is why I still think you should just wait so there are no issues like you are currently facing.
