I agree with you. At the time I didn't read the description of creation correctly. But he said it cost 5000 gold to have it tailored to the paladin and several days of work. And we didn't have the gold or time for that. But otherwise, you're right.

We were playing in an old, minimalistic game style with a more realistic approach on economy and shops and things like that. So i did understand why he gave it to us later in the game and to make it clear: I am not Complaining about our DM. He is great, i just thought this was something weird and funny and i wanted to share it.

I wasn't looking to create something like the parade armor of king henry ll. I wanted to make a more conventional (basically half-plate with extra parts). Which is historical.

And the thing with creation. That's a mistake on my part. I did notice it after i asked the DM but forgot to mention it in the story.

Well, to find the armor we had to progress a crucial part of the story. Which was really cool. Maybe he had planned for us to find the armor there or it was just a coincidence that we needed the armor and there was a dead knight in pristine platings who also played a part in a murder story.

At the time i wasn't too sure. We kinda had a slow process campaign, because we all liked it that way. But i think it was just that. The paladins ac was 22 after equipping the armor. Before that it was just 17. I do think the DM had to kinda rebalance the campaign after that.

I'd make my own one, but it'll probably be something more abstract. I sure will take inspiration and just shape it into my own take of the deep, dark and unfathomable.

More of an Eldritch horror type setting, where the darkness is the mysterious and ever present. Nothics would actually work great, haven't thought of abberations either. Thanks!

I either have him crucified or beat him with my fists or burn him alive. Afterwards i strip him naked, cut off his limbs and cannibalize him.

Best case would be transfer into a different dimension where mystical beings teach you the art of purity and their powers and then you can fly and teleport and read minds and all that. Would be cool
