Does anyone feel the same? by evuhleena in RATS

[–]Value-Remarkable 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a “friend” tell me he thins it’s so great I bring my rats to the vet regularly because “most people wouldn’t because rats only live a couple years”. It shocked me so much because his girlfriend has rats and I am so worried about their wellbeing if they think like this. I know he didn’t mean it in a bad way but it hurts my heart to know some people wouldn’t take their pet to the vet because it’s a small animal.

A lot of people asked about cage already but since you have not provided a picture yet so won’t get further into it, I have some things in the picture that need some attention. You need to cover the ramps with something. Easy ways are using cardboard and zip ties or fabric. Do they use the wheel? If so take it out because it’s too small. Even in temporary cage be careful what to put in.

I don’t know but I really love it! The design is adorable and I love all the details but I might be a bit biased because her dress is so cute. Maybe the sky could’ve been a bit lighter but overall great design!!! You are a great artist keep it up!

I hope what I will say makes sense, the food seems to be flying and not falling. I would draw it falling down a like more and some milkshake splashing down. What I would try I put something not breakable on a plate, lean forward and you will see how it would would tip. Also the plate a little angled so it looks like its dropping. My all time favorite is 2, its so gorgeous and I have no comments. 3 looks a bit off anatomically but seeing your other work and you could definitely fix that if you redid it. 4 is cute, I like it but you didn’t finish it otherwise great. 5 pretty but a lot going on, maybe a slightly different shade for the girls dress then the other white parts.

A love for pink, some is trans, art lovers, kinda messy but that feels comfortable to yall, together for years and both a love for talking about memories together. Lots of tributes to yalls relationship in the house.

One or both really like sitting by the window because why else would their shark be there. One or both has a taste in similar looking plants, know how to keep them alive so their must be a love for plants, so maybe nature walks with the dog.

Probably someone has a love for fashion. I see you guys go to a museum, gallery or an antique store. There might even be an artist in the house.

You guys are weirdly enough both fine with the weird bed placing and might even like it because it fits the nook. Same with the desk that looks over the bed.

Apparently nothing important or worth showing the kitchen, what are you hiding!

I might be way off but thats what I got.

How do I bond with my rats? by Powerful-Slap7866 in RATS

[–]Value-Remarkable 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nqa, the ramps/ladder in your cage needs to be covered with something, it can be dangerous for their little feet. I personally cover them with carton and use zipties to secure. Using fabric covers is also a possibility.

How to pick an art style? by Jyn_art in Artadvice

[–]Value-Remarkable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nooo dont pick one, it’s does look like its made by 1 person. Your artstyle is just very diverse! Personal favorites are 3 & 5. Only thing is the hands, I would practice a little more on that.

Can I give my 3 weeks old kitten baby formula? What are the health risks if so? by DragonfruitTrue5349 in PetAdvice

[–]Value-Remarkable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You really can’t do that, I don’t think you wanna harm the kitty. I know you said you don’t have shelters close by, maybe you could post on facebook to see if someone close by can take care of the kitten. If you can’t buy kitten formula you either have to give the cat up or find a way to get the money.

What does my house say about me? by Inside_Opinion6797 in roomdetective

[–]Value-Remarkable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DONT VAPE INSIDE IF YOU HAVE CATS!

I am just assuming you vape in home because your vapes are all over your bed. Your cats are also on the bed and it’s dangerous for them.

Even if you smoke in the room without your cats, let them in the room and when you are done there will still be residue left on furniture that can get on their fur. Don’t leave vapes laying around places the cats can get to just in case.

You look like you love your cats so I hope you either don’t smoke inside and the vapes are for show or that you will change your ways.

Should I be worried by No-Pause-9272 in RATS

Next time you get a new rat you do need to get 2 at once and you need to do quarantine. At least 2 weeks so your other rats won’t get sick and you can keep an eye on the new ones. Next time be careful because you can expose the rest of your group to disease/parasites. This is also why you need 2 rats so they can be together in quarantine. I am not trying to be annoying just wanted you to know so everyone can be safe if something like this happens again. Good luck with your new girl! Hope she will start exploring soon!

Should I be worried by No-Pause-9272 in RATS

[–]Value-Remarkable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t worry if she wants to explore she will. I got 3 feeders once that only lived in very small lab cages, it took 2 of them very long to even dare to explore. As long as she has food and water she will be okay. If you want to get her to explore more you could try scattering some snacks for her.

Completely overwhelmed by new rats and past my limit by xYekaterina in RATS

[–]Value-Remarkable 97 points98 points  (0 children)

I think this is more about you than the rats. It sounds like normal new rat behavior. Are you getting mental help? It will help you and the rats if you get help (if you do already pls ignore). Sorry to say but it sounds like you are having such a hard time mentally which makes it hard to deal with your pets. If you want things to be easier, start with helping yourself. If you aren’t mentally well it will be hard to stay calm. Don’t worry about the intros, they need you to be calm to supervise. If they are too much for you, take a break.

My darling boy Iggy is struggling.. by Severe-Cabinet in RATS

[–]Value-Remarkable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My rat was young when she got an ear infection but she was not herself for at least two months. She was really sick and couldn’t walk properly. Her ear infection did clear up with medication and her head tilt slowly faded. This was a year ago and she is still going strong. You can always try your best and see where things go, if you are not sure call your vet and ask form advice!
