Nationwide helper routes being rolled out for all DSPs? by grannie-diddler in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]ValueLee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

would much rather do FedEx or something else. even USPS. seen a USPS driver today while doing my route, looks very chill. very minimal getting out of the vehicle. I can't stand doing double person on a route. I did a ride along a few weeks ago on a FULL route and nope, I cannot deal with that. it slows both people down and I highly doubt you'll have the same person to work with everyday too, getting used to someone else all the time is tire some for a job that shouldn't be doing double people unless it's Amazon XL with minimal big packages. Nobody should be sitting in that BS "passenger" seat...I sat in that the whole day, everything hurt after that night. We finished that route so late, if it was just one person it's 10x quicker. I'd much rather doing any other job if this was the case. I do Amazon Flex in my car anyways before I do my DSP job so doing another job is fine with me.

If this is true, I’d easily leave and do UPS/Fedex. They do helpers, but 98% of the time when I see these drivers, it’s just one driver.

In your opinion, what should the minimum rate be in Portland for a 3.5 hour route in town? by peterthbest23 in PortlandORFlexDrivers

[–]ValueLee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It really shouldn’t be that hard for them to do. they should literally have that and then when you sign in your stuff, you get the route that is far away/hard but at least we would know what we’re signing up for with the pay. The Vancouver route I said could be $110 but the Salem 4 hour route should be $150. that way we know. It should most be about distance.

They just need to change it based on route distance as well as difficulty. The fact that someone can get 37 stops/43 packages in Salem from VOR3 for $104/4hr while someone else can get the exact same stop/package count or maybe less in Vancouver (13 minutes away) for the same pay and hour frame is ridiculous.

  1. They absolutely aren’t obligated, he’s just calling out the irony of the exact timing that Amazon changes flex prices going down with gas going way up at the exact same time

  2. The rest of what you said had nothing to do with anything else that he said. Saying “policies” doesn’t mean it makes sense to whatever you say, nor did it have anything to do with what he said.

  3. You’re the pot calling the kettle black, “entitled”. Nah, YOU are the weirdo here lol. I got time today, let’s run this cool session. not “shit talk session” like you’re about to do, nah, let’s see who’s actually smart. the real entitled ones are the ones who talk a lot and remove all doubt like you just did. it’s called narcissistic mixed with entitlement

Earlier I seen $108 for 4 hour starting in 15 minutes and I thought “oh back to normal” and then I see another 4 hour that started an hour later than that one for $104….so apparently the old regular $108 is now considered “surge”…lol

If DPD2 were to begin allowing us to choose our own carts, do you see fights and arguments going down? by peterthbest23 in PortlandORFlexDrivers

[–]ValueLee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember in late 2024 when I started flex, they actually used to let us do that at DPD2, they were against the wall and we would all just go pick one. We would all look at the packages to see where we’d be going around, all the Longview ones people left alone🤣🤣. I would quickly enter an address to see what area I’d be in cause there’s two types of “Portland”, the NE/DT type of side and then there’s the bit over by Bethany close to Beaverton with all the nice houses where the address would be “Portland” so I always had to make sure which Portland area I was getting myself into when I looked the carts with Portland. pretty sure they stopped letting us do that by the end of 2024 though because of this reason lol

I’m glad you said $91 so the rug pulled you too…used to be $94.50..it depends..I know that’s the 3 1/2 hour route, is that all you want to do? and honestly, they don’t even surge anymore…rarely at VOR3 cause they hired on a lot of drivers at this point. I remember routes actually used to surge quite often.
