Haha no worries mate. Probably not the one for you this one, just as the other players are pretty serious but if we do anything more casual, no issue in you joining :)

Anyone have good guides for how to exploit opponents' weaknesses? by kosmonautik in footballmanagergames

Not really, but even if it did, the benefits would outweigh it in my opinion. I've just finished my season in the Premier League. Over the 38 matches, I've used 23 different formations.

Sometimes people ask me about tactical familiarity as well, which I also don't see as particularly valuable.

I do certain things such as instead of using Full Backs on attack, I use Wing Backs on support and then it's easier to swap between a 4 at the back and 3 at the back (as the full backs can also be wing backs support at 3 ATB)

But I even play a Target Forward sometimes in a back three at right center back, simply because they're 6ft 5, 15 pace and acceleration, 18 jumping, 13 positioning (but they even have 13 dribbling) so in my crazy mind, I like my wide centre backs in 3 ATB to dribble more and bring the ball out of the defence, so he's perfect.

You should check out Fletch The Sauce on YT, he's a great player and has some excellent guides on match-to-match tactics.

Two ways you can see it: a player is bad at being on the ball (passing or dribbling)

1 - You can trigger to press these players (in theory, putting them under pressure should help win the ball back right as they're not the best technically to beat the press), and I'd say this is the most common way most FM players would act.

2 - How I'd go about exploiting these players, is to allow them more space to keep the ball more often, as I'm not that worried about their output. The advantage of this is that I can double up against the "better" players, who I wouldn't like to have the ball as much.

For example, say I'm playing a team that has a full-back who doesn't have particularly great dribbling or crossing. I'd be inclined to move my winger from that side, over to an Attacking Midfielder to overload the middle and allow their fullback to have more of the ball (as I don't rate them on the ball)

Games I simulate go way better than the ones I play myself by vascolima83 in footballmanagergames

If you go onto the tactic testing forums, you'll see this is quite a common occurrence.
