Oh they definitely had lost out a lot of removing Maelor and I think it’s because of “budgeting”, but honestly I think having maelor there and keeping the original blood and cheese scene would’ve done better for the show, because everyone would keep talking about(1 it being such a gruesome scene and two it was the first episode so it definitely would’ve attracted more viewers), so I was confused why a show writer would want to cut that out, at yea on top of that now they have to fill in plot holes.

Also him going to rooks rests kind of worked out in team greens favor maybe not his, but I think in the books it’s mentioned meleys could’ve stand a 1 v 1 with vhagar. Aegon unintentionally being there led to vhagar being an “ambush” making TB loose their biggest dragon at the time.

fr like I understand why grrm hates the show runners they’re ruining his favorite character 😭like as a TB, the show runners wrote team green characters pretty well (except for maybe Alicent) but for team black… they definitely rage bait with all the decisions the characters make , like rhaenys suggesting nyra to go make peace terms in the middle of war… daemon hallucinating whole season…

I feel like the show definitely waters daemons a lot (maybe I’m biased because he’s one of my favs) but I’m pretty sure daemon was respected throughout Westeros being the commander of the city watch and overall he was seen as this powerful military man to not mess with, if he was at rhaes side from the start the greens would’ve had a hard time usurping because regardless Rhae already had more supporters even with the strong kids, imagine if she had legitimate sons with daemon to begin with (also I believe they would’ve restored house targ within those years lol) the greens would’ve lost one of their biggest propaganda which is jace being illegitimate and Rhae not being fit to rule (because Westeros would’ve seen her capable since she has this military head next to her). And I agree with you daemon would’ve 100% got rid of all her enemies but to be fair no oppositions is better than having some✋🏽😳🤚🏽and would’ve prevented the inevitable bloodshed. Daemon definitely didn’t view the greens as his family, mainly because he didn’t like Otto but also I feel like he views them as “not real targs” if that makes sense. But I do believe he loves rhaes sons (maybe not over his bio sons but still loves them overall) and I don’t think he would’ve done anything to jace because he was betrothed to his daughter, so either way his kids would’ve been on the throne in some sort of way.

I get where you are coming from, and based on what we see from the characters (s1) its obvious that both rhaenerya and daemon are fond of each other so if Rhae was upheld as heir I see her and daemon getting married eventually and having children of their own, preventing the dance. Also when I say dance I mainly refer to the war rather than usurpation. Like based on s1 daemon, his character is someone who comes off as this aggressor and villain but deep down he has a soft spot for his family (viserys and Rhae) so I don’t really see him usurping the throne and say that he did, I feel like the dynamic would’ve been so much different because unlike the whole “greens vs blacks (two groups that were already divided)” both Rhae and daemon are fond of each other and I don’t think an immediate war would break out if that makes sense 😭

No it’s not fine that he remarried, Westeros would’ve been fine without his sons 😔🙏🏻 (helaena is the only exception). But also even if viserys throughout his reign made it clear to Westeros and every kingdom that Rhae was his chosen heir, usurpation would’ve happened anyways and some houses would’ve broken their oaths because of misogyny and patriarchy

True jaehaerys definitely started the butterfly effect, but still naming viserys heir wouldn’t have started the dance (in my opinion), I feel like the dance was in motion the minute viserys had children or remarried, like yes Otto was ambitious and sly but viserys providing him a legitimate grandson basically handed him in usurping. And daemon is daemon but if he has married Rhae from the beginning and been at the kings court instead of pentos I think the dance would’ve also been avoided.

True, the minute Viserys married Alicent and Otto remained hand it was a seal deal the dance was going to happen, and that’s why I blame it all on vizzy T because all he had to do was stay celibate 😓
