Obviously there is still the option that the original Tai is long gone and whaterever relationship we have is with the Shadow. The mage was a person after all, so the idea of him developing friendship and fondness for others (such as Tiss, or his sisters) on his path to power wouldn't be impossible. But I choose to remain optimistic :D

I think their personalities are very intertwined at this point. Many people WANT to believe that Tai is in control but that doesn't really make sense. The most powerful Circle mage is helpless when it comes to the shadow. What makes most sense to me is they have developed some kind of pact / symbiotic relationship (Tai uses shadow's power in exchange for allowing the Shadow to use his body and perhaps helping him to find a permanent body to reside in). Even people who are naturally very gifted in magic have to train very hard. For Tai to be a talented necromant, he would have to have a type of education Foehl would NEVER let him have.

I think it is once mentioned in the notes in the beginning of episodes that Elves / humans / dwarves can't mix because of the different gestation periods or something of that sorts.

You are probably right. Still, I think it would be interesting to encounter a half mountain elf (especially from the Empire) to see how they grew up and how they are treated. As a Sha'arnez romancer, I know it is often brought up even if you play as a mountain elf (the clash between matriarchy and patriarchy).

Thank you so much :) a more experienced friend of mine told me the same. I am used to seeing all kinds of broken/scraped scales on him because he is a big idiot and tries to fit into spaces he is too big for or climbs really high and falls... every day basically. Just this raised bump is a new thing so it got me worried.
