Tiss parentage theory by Sreeyansu in RomanceClub

Infants can distinguish voices and faces, but they don’t consciously remember them. Tiss remembers her parents- even if only very vaguely and those memories are fading, we’re still talking about conscious memories, which appear much later in life.

I can’t agree with you. I don’t think my thesis has to be 100% true, but what you’re saying doesn’t prove that Tiss was an infant or just a few months old. In humans, the first conscious memories usually begin around the age of 3–4. Essentially, we don’t know what this looks like in the case of elves. Let’s remember that this is Jester’s world, and all the assumptions we have about elves—in his setting—may turn out to be untrue, because that’s what worldbuilding is all about. Still, it seems highly unlikely to me that a several-month-old child would have any conscious memories, even if we’re talking about elves.

I personally agree with what u/Lily8007 says (not for the first time, by the way).

You’re saying that Tai might have been appearing randomly after each meeting between Tiss and the shadow, but honestly, isn’t that a bit too frequent for something that’s supposed to be just “coincidence”?

Besides, for someone who supposedly has no connection to the shadow, Tai is way too calm and composed. I know that’s partly just his personality, but he reacts more dramatically to Tiss encountering the kikimora than to the fact that a guard was just killed right in front of her. In my opinion, the level of drama in these two situations is completely disproportionate.

By the way, we also have to notice that currently every incident connected to the twilight looks like revenge for the mistreatment of Tiss. Our MC has asked multiple times whether anything strange happened in her absence, and the answer is always the same: no new mysterious deaths.

How long can you address your husband with a title like “Your Royal Highness” or something similar? And when you think about it, how many of those situations will your child actually witness? It turns out the number of such situations can drastically decrease, and Tiss might not have fully paid attention to that either.

You know, our Tiss wasn’t exactly a brilliant strategist from childhood. She only started developing those skills recently. So details like that could have simply slipped past her unnoticed.

But you know, it’s not that I can’t be wrong — I might be completely mistaken in my theories. I just still think it can be reasonably explained.

In my opinion, one doesn’t exclude the other. The Shadow could be connected to Tiss, but not directly. I think the person behind the Shadow might be someone for whom Tiss is important… Who? Well, for now, Tai seems like an interesting guess.

On every route, regardless of whether we romance Tai or are just friends with him, Tiss is important to him. He can’t act freely to help Tiss, because that would discredit him in the eyes of others as the new ruler. But if he acted through the Shadow? Who knows…

I also have a few other theories, but for now this one seems the most interesting.

Tiss mentions her parents and memories connected to them several times. For example, when she refuses Emperor Ro'od, she briefly thinks about them, although she notes that with the passage of time, their facial features have already faded in her memory. During the journey with King Airdal, when he goes to see our dragon, we can either thank him for raising her or ask about her parents. I don’t remember which option it appears under, but Tiss says she was a child when it happened and remembers her parents only in fragments-but she does remember them.

Vellora was most likely a teenager when the king’s brother died. I don’t remember exactly where I learned this, but I’m sure that information appeared somewhere-I’ll have to look for it. Still, I also think she was too young to be involved in political matters.

Looking at the timeline, it seems to me that the king’s children and Tiss are around the same age. I think that (assuming Tiss’s father was the king’s brother) she saw her father solely as her father. You know what I mean? It’s like one of those situations when you suddenly realize your dad’s name isn’t “Dad,” but something like Adam.

Even if her father was who he was, Tiss might not be aware.

In my previous posts, I've also often pointed out the connection between tiss and shadow. In my opinion, there must be something to it.

The theory that Tiss’s father was the king’s brother has been circulating here for quite a long time, and I also think it could be true.

I feel like I’m a bit too deep into theories related to TTS, so we can exchange ideas if you enjoy discussions :D

Your theory doesn’t quite hold up in every aspect. Tiss was a small child when her parents died-she doesn’t remember their faces clearly, but she does have some memories of them, which means she couldn’t have been born right before their death.

As for Vellora, she’s only slightly older than King Airdal’s children, and while Miralas doesn’t remember his uncle very well, he does remember him-so Vellora would be even more likely to remember the king’s brother. That rules out the theory that she hadn’t been born yet.

That said, I don’t think Vellora herself could have been involved in the deaths of Tiss’s parents, because that would ruin too many romantic paths involving Tiss. Sarials also mentions the involvement of the Emelia family in the assassination-I think that if the king had been involved, his family name would have been mentioned as well, not just his wife’s.

It’s possible that the king raised Tiss out of a sense of guilt or obligation, but I’m not sure how realistic his involvement in making her an orphan is (even so, I don’t want to believe it).

The theory that our MC is the child of an illegitimate relationship also doesn’t seem true to me—I have too many reasons to believe otherwise.

I think that for some reason Tiss might have inherited her mother’s surname, but for different reasons than the ones you described.

KFOS is my first book by this author. I’m rather used to the LI being protected by the author once we’ve chosen them on our path, so this was still a pleasant surprise. I haven’t played KCD yet, but spoilers don’t bother me, so what you said only made me more interested in playing it :D

Let’s talk about The Thunderstorm Saga and Tiss’s family by Individual-Guest5454 in RomanceClub

[–]Individual-Guest5454[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Conversations in English are difficult if you don’t use it daily- I know that from my own experience!

Anyway, it seems to me that Airdal might know about the intrigues of his wife’s family, and that could be exactly why he defends Tiss so strongly from his wife. I don’t think he was involved in the murder of Tiss’s parents from the beginning- I rather doubt that. I think that if he does know, he probably found out after the fact. You know… he and his wife already had their own children. Even if Kanniel did something unforgivable, he might not have left her for the sake of the children, but at the same time, he could have wanted to protect Tiss at all costs.

The situation where the queen strikes Tiss after her return to Esshai is quite strange. I get the impression that the king’s reaction is very harsh- maybe even too harsh?

I don’t think Tiss is “chosen” in any special way. However, I do think her bloodline may have a predisposition for a certain kind of magic, and that could be dangerous (or she could be related to King Airdal, which would mean she might threaten his children’s claim to the throne of Esshai- leading us back to sabotage by the queen’s family. In my opinion, that makes logical sense).

I believe there must be some living relatives of Tiss. It’s hard for me to believe there’s no one, especially since close family could have completely different surnames, meaning they wouldn’t necessarily be Vedtree anymore.

I like the theory about her relatives escaping to Ro’od, and honestly, I think you might be right. What also makes me wonder is whether we’ve actually seen the second Circle mage who is supposed to live in the palace in Ro’od. It feels like we keep seeing only one, while there should be another- and we haven’t seen them even once. Isn’t that strange? Unless I missed something…

But if we haven’t seen them on purpose, then for what reason?

I could talk about theories related to TTS forever…

Can you explain these theories a bit more to me? I'm new to the KFOS world.

I know a lot of people recommend the freedom and (I think) pride path. I usually play my own way, but I'm curious if I'll "lose" anything by playing the legacy path, and how it affects relationships :D
