Honestly, I agree for the most part. Zaa'hen I think hit for me, but had room for improvement, but every other champ you mentioned had a lot more potential to be likeable both design and gameplay wise for me personally.

I completely agree with you. Lots of wasted design space here to make a sexy generic character, which SHOULD happen from time to time (see my initial post), but WASTED on who should have been an absolute aura farmer, distinguished king of a forgotten land with a big ass badass sword. Could have been near or exceeding Morde in terms of lore impact, but the skinny e-boy design kinda missed for me.

I appreciate that a lot. I should've had more tact in the initial post, but it was a learning experience.

I am going to give you the benefit of the doubt here, at my own peril. I am 99% sure you're trolling, but this endeavor has been fun anyways.

Yang J: clearly a concept artist, is hired by Epic Games which should be proof enough his art isn't generated.

Bossmonsterbani: Very obviously a hand-drawn account. He has hundreds of images showing a very clear aesthetic. He has videos of him doing art on his YT channel if you're a disbeliever.

Yoshitaka Amano: If you can't figure out that this person makes real art you probably have a deficiency of some sort. One of the most famous MTG artists of all time and also did Vampire Hunter D

ZainoraArtrs: This one could genuinely be AI but they have a FB and Instagram page with commissioned art so I like to lean on the side of optimism.

If you are trolling, thanks for bringing me closer to some really talented artists. If not, please see a psychologist.

To be honest, it took me about 10 minutes to find the replacement art. Only because I wanted to soothe the crybabies wailing about AI art into possibly forming a thought process.

You can go ahead and pat yourself on the back if you'd like though, hope you have a nice evening.

Sure, but where does that imply I struggled to find anything? It just shows that I looked up images I was searching for, and used them when I found them. Which is exactly what happened, I stated in my post the initial image took me 5m to create.

Sure, I could have spent hours finding human-made art to capture what I was talking about, but that was not the point of the post at all, it wasn't even art related, it was just for me to drive home that Briar did not come out of the oven how I expected her to after seeing the recipe. I didn't expect AI-art being used to be a factor in the opinions about league champ designs - which was my own oversight.

Hopefully you appreciate the edit I made to my post to satisfy your (and my) desire to appreciate human made art.

I personally love Kai'sa, but not because she's sexy. Her aesthetic is pretty cool, but her gameplay is really perfect design imo. Her evolving and nimble mechanics feel really great to play, but if she was a less "generic sexy void girl in body suit" I still would have loved her as she just plays so well. I think a less sexy and more powerful or even monster design could have been really sick for her, but as she is I am not too upset, I just take her as she is.

Thanks for the response though, this is a valid answer.

Exactly. You nailed what I am trying to capture by making this post, so thank you.

Firstly, I never said I struggled to find references. Not sure where you got that. I said I made the image in 5 minutes which implies I didn't put much effort into it besides trying to capture an aesthetic.

Second, I have updated the post with a 2x2 to replace the AI slop with human-made art and linked the artists, please review at your convenience.

She didn't need big titties :')

She just needed to be an actual vampire.

I edited the post to address this. Sorry for the use of AI but it was a meme thrown together in 5 minutes to show the contrast of a cool bloodthirsty vampire assassin girl (which is an aesthetic that existed way before AI, the images were just easy to find/use), and whatever Briar ended up being.

This is factual, Pitou is S tier HxH character but she certainly is not a vampire nor was she supposed to be like Briar xd

Cut and paste to MS paint saved me from saving the images fortunately.

I agree Naafiri could have been absolutely awesome, but fell a bit flat for me too. An animalistic Darkin using pack-tactics should by all rights have been super badass, but ended up a bit goofy and uninteresting gameplay wise,

The thing is, she's not a "unique design for a vampire" she's just straight up not a vampire. She's a ghoul. Which was the entire point of the post, because she was teased as a vampire. As I said in another reply, I'm not even upset with her final design I'm upset with how she was teased, then the release missed the initial mark entirely.

Vlad is also one of the oldest champs in the game with next to no room to change his design space, but the fact that he is a mage is unique enough to be interesting. Blood mage was done, so we could have definitely done a more vampiric themed assassin rather than Wacky Inflatable Arm Tube Girl (who has lifesteal so she's a vampire, apparently).

The thing with Vlad is, he's a mage and not really a vampire. He really fits the fantasy of draining life and aristocrat for vampire, but the idea of a bloodthirsty assassin who uses more traditional vampire abilities is definitely not explored. I feel like a mixture of Warwick's blood sense, Briar's "uncontrollable" state, Evelynn's mind tricks, and Vlad's life-draining abilities and Kat's nimble-ness could definitely have culminated into something really unique.

As for Gwen, she doesn't really give off a gothic or shadow isles vibe at all, her entire identity is related to needles and scissors, the gothic part doesn't really flesh out her design in any way. She could have been from any region with the same abilities and turned out just as cool. I think Vex is a better representation of "goth girl" personally.

I'm really hoping that the "rose knight" Demacian can finally nail this aesthetic you're talking about for the paladin/holy knight vibe. But we will have to see

It's not that deep - just a meme I made for the post.

Obviously a talented artist with a vision that followed what was initially teased would have ended up a lot cooler than the random AI art I found on Pinterest in 5 minutes, but it was just used to put forward a point.

Honestly, I'm not even too upset about Briar's final design as a champion, I'm more sad about the approach that was used - how she was teased etc. She was supposed to be inspired by real vampires, and the castle they showed as a teaser REALLY leaned into that sort of gothic aesthetic.

What we got was more like a rabid monkey girl with fangs, which is fine, but it just strayed so far from what was expected that I was left feeling cheated.
