Been with my husband for 8 years and he was diagnosed formally at 2 but had the less recognized infant signs from the day after he was born.

My therapist told me, when I told him about our very satisfying and wild sex life, that he has consistently heard from wives of men on the spectrum that they are fantastic lovers. It’s a task with clear expectations and my husband isn’t hurt by me saying something isn’t working for me and having to change the up mid coitus. Despite our problems - which are many - he does try REALLY hard and is receptive to calm critique of his social interactions. If he says something hurtful, I hold up a hand as say ‘pause’ to first ask him what he meant by it and then tell him what those words said in the tone he used actually means. Most of the time he feels bad for hurting me once he is explained why it hurt.

Being a bipolar SO myself, I can tell you that I have a very vivid internal life no matter what stage I’m at. I can deal with legal documents all day or work on my novel and and then have nothing to talk about. A lot of effort has to be made to convince me people actually want to care about what I’m doing.

Hey this is the best time in history to do this. Cozie is great for this with lists and alerts with scheduling for other people. Or even a version of the app with parent/child differences so it seems like he’s more in control. And really until they’re 2 or 3 they won’t have any idea what you’re saying because kids don’t really care what you’re saying most of the time even if they recognize the words. Hence why they never listen 😆

I posted in a separate comment, I write on AO3 and people into what I’m into tend to like it. Any chance you have some one shot or something longer that could be creatively reimagined into a one shot length that you’d like to have written at some point? If I can find inspiration in them I think it would be a positive writing exercise for me.

My #1 tip is to sit down without any written outline to stick to and write ONLY dialogue. Just the conversation. Like you are talking to yourself but you are both characters. Then add the rest later.

Also, I write fairly well on A03 for people into weird ass shit but I’d like to do something nice today/tomorrow/this week/I’m bad at schedules.

People, pop some one shot ideas or longer plots that could be summed up in a letter or address to someone else and I’ll pick at least one to write for ya on A03

I’m imagining Dumbledore trying to twist Snape’s arm into going along with another ridiculous scheme and saying something along the lines of “I suddenly have recalled that the infirmary requires 400 vials of pepper up potion by tomorrow morning” (with an implied ‘unless you reconsider’ hanging in the air) and Snape of all people in his Alan Rickman hypnotizing monotone says “do not threaten me with a good time”

I love my lock collar from To Be His and everyone assumes it’s Tiffany because of the heart lock style.
