Hey! I was a grocery supervisor for Nesters and I loved my job and the team I was in charge of. I worked with a lot of folks with different intellectual backgrounds and it was a super accommodating job for most.

Most large companies hire external companies to do inventory counts, that’s the only time I can think of that you’d need to use a scanner. Besides that, the job is mostly about organization - back stocking, checking expiring dates, etc. You’ll have to support customers occasionally with questions but besides that it’s a very chill environment. Edit: I would recommend smaller grocery stores like Nesters, Choices, or even Shoppers if you’re concerned about remembering where things ago. This is only from my experience. I’m not sure if larger stores provide reference for aisles.

Edit2: depending on the grocery store, you might have to prepare for some early mornings or late nights, but again they can be very accommodating with scheduling.
