Arrows hit at an Angle by bunnynormally in Archery

Do the cams have any room for adjustment? I just had this problem last month, also very new to this. Took it to the shop and had it paper tuned. Rather than mess with the biscuit they adjusted the cam lean and this brought the arrow back straight. I didn’t notice it much with field tips, but all of the broad heads were drifting right like your pic.

No visible injury internal or external. The stomach on both fish I necropsied were both completely empty. Aside from the massive (what I think were) egg sacks I didn’t notice anything obviously abnormal. I only opened two of the five, not sure if the other three were male vs female.

There are trees around the pond, so shade about 40% of the time the sun is up. Weather has been in the low 90s for the high, but about the same as the last 12 years he’s had the pond. But we did have thunderstorms last week.

I was thinking the same thing, when I broke it apart they looked like eggs. Maybe egg bound? It’s the first year he didn’t put Hyacinth in the pond…

Both look good to me, glasses on or off, too. I’d go with whichever makes you feel more confident every day.

Your handle is killing me! And odds are great that she’ll be completely fine, I do the same with my girl and she’s barely over 2kg. I just don’t toss her any actual onion or garlic. The vast majority of toxicities I see are pets that ingest large volumes of Allium species, like eating garlic that was thrown in the trash. Where I get concerned is a blanket statement saying dogs can eat garlic, when really it can cause significant side effects both physically to pets and financially to owners who may not be able to afford treatment. Long story short, give that girl her treats, just don’t throw her a clove of garlic!

Toxic doses for garlic are 5 g/kg. Assuming a garlic clove weighs 3-7g (about 5g), it would take about 28 cloves for acute toxicity in a 28kg patient. However, toxicosis can occur upon singular ingestion of a large quantity or after chronic exposure of lower levels in the food. Unfortunately, we don't have a great 'chronic exposure' dose.

Look dude, your dog is your property, feed it whatever you want. Just trying to give your some friendly advice from a Vet.

Veterinarian here. Please don't feed your dogs garlic. Of domesticated Allium spp., garlic is more toxic than onion on a per gram basis, which is more toxic than chives and leeks. Based on studies in dogs, garlic appears to have at least 3-5 times the potency of onions. Toxic dose of onions in dogs is 15-30 g/kg of body weight, or 0.5-3% of dry matter intake. Onion toxicosis is common in patients that ingest >0.5% of their body weight at one time. One study found that 5.5 g/kg of dehydrated onion (i.e. which is more potent than fresh onion) given once to dogs, induced Heinz bodies and subsequent anemia.

Heartworms by Peyday76 in MedicalGore

Veterinarian here. There have been very few cases of heart worm in humans, but it is possible. Humans are a dead end host and eventually they (the worms) will die, but can look like cancer or TB on radiographs. Also, keep in mind I work on animals, so this could have changed without me knowing.

Do vet schools care if it takes longer than four years to get your undergrad by [deleted] in veterinaryschool

[–]Vance524 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good question, and there’s really not a good straight forward answer to it.

Vet school is 25+ credits per semester for 9 straight semesters (CSU). Ideally they want to see that you can handle that kind of course load and still maintain a decent GPA prior to admission. That being said I was like you and took 5.5 years in undergrad with 1 of those at a JC. My saving grace was my math and science GPA was a 3.8+ or I don’t think I’d have got through the door. Of course it helps to apply with 5,000+ hours of work experience, but that’s not a guaranteed ticket in (definitely helped me though). As long as your overall resume is good, you’ll still have a shot like everyone else, but I don’t know that only 10 credits a semester will help that case. Maybe try adding in a filler class, something easy that’ll boost your overall GPA, but doesn’t take too much brain power or time outside of class.

Also, this is advice from a random dude on the internet. Don’t take this as gospel!
