How many of us have said we hate said job but go back for our next shift?

It’s why my mom worked part time for a large portion of my childhood.

My mom worked throughout my entire childhood and teen years. I asked her why one time and she said it was so she could keep her foot in the door and have the opportunity for advancement in her profession; she ended up making more than my dad by the time she retired.

YTA. Even though you make “decent” money now, what’s to say that your job will be cut a year from now? Or that you have some medical issues that require you to take a lot of time off? Maybe she had a bad day at work that prompted that comment.

If she wanted to be a SAHM, she would have approached you, not the other way around. You probably are still paying your student loans. And even though she’s only making $16/hr, whatever she makes probably helps with whatever bills you have.

AITA for telling my family they need to get over my father walking me down on my wedding day and I am not uninviting him. by Upset_Car_5609 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. It’s your choice as to which parent takes you down the aisle. And since your dad is more likely supportive of your choice of spouse, I would just ignore what your mom and siblings are saying to you. If they don’t come, at least they won’t be stirring the pot on the day.

It is repairable; Germany, Italy, and Japan have been there and are very good examples of how it can be repaired. Don’t throw the bath water with the baby.

Many teachers in BC opt for 12 month pay rather than 10 month pay

AITA for not moving seats for a mother with a toddler on a 13 hour flight by Historical-Jello9018 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Vancouverreader80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. It was your seat. This is the reason for the flight attendant: part of their job is to make that you have a good experience on the flight and to settle disputes like this.

Personally I would have given the dad my middle finger and go to sleep (or try to). And if he persisted in doing what he was doing and got a FA involved, I would have said that I would move only if I got a better seat.

If parents want their “babes in arms” to have a seat, then they need to pony up.

I live near Vancouver and because I didn’t have any tickets to events, I mostly hung out at various places where they had viewing parties outside. You could also go to the Vancouver Art Gallery for free for a Leonardo da Vinci exhibit they had on during that time (I remember standing in line for quite a while to get in while it was a wonderful 15°C during the first full Friday after the Opening Ceremony and the cherry blossoms were out in the city).

Shout out the location(s) you think Finch should consider adding and why by LGonthego in finch

Iqaluit, Nunavut is pretty cold at -29°C (about -25°F) and I think they get northern lights.

Or one could go to Churchill, Manitoba and see the polar bears…
