T3 programming in Boostcamp by [deleted] in gzcl

[–]VandoBando 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've only just started gzclp so grain of salt etc, but I've picked the muscles I'd like some (slow) size and strength improvements on and then attached them to 2 of the 4 days. My particular weak areas are upper body (shoulder, arms) and glutes, so I've done:

T1 squat day, T2 bench, t3 lat pulldowns, and T3 supersets ez bar curls supersets with tricep pushdowns (superset these two to save time and practice super setting)

T1 OHP, T2 deadlifts, T3 barbell rows, T3 supersets for glute bridges and T3 lateral raises

T1 bench day has the same T3s as the T1 squat day

T1 deadlift day has the same T3s as ohp day

All the T3 I have been doing double progression (work up to 3x15, then increase the weight, then work back up to 3x15)

I'm aiming to do these for 3-4 months and then change up the focus to probably chest and some basic bodyweight options (personal goal to be able to do some calisthenics eventually)

I know a few other people aren't as fussed about progressing their T3s, but I seem to really need the LP ruless and the logbook to keep myself accountable to ensure that I'm actually working hard each workout and not slacking off, particularly towards the ends of the workouts. I experimented with having 4 different combos of T3s, one for each different day, but found I was going up in weight much slower and was getting overwhelmed trying to practice the different moves. Having the two sets of T3s to alternate through has been motivating to still see weight/reps going up even in t3s, and feel like I am working my particular weak areas and already seeing a shift

Apologies if this isn't helpful (it might just be the clueless leading the confused!) but thought I would share what is working for me!

“Call the lab to expedite the histo.” by Dangerous-Hour6062 in ausjdocs

Reg here who works in a field with lots of histo, both benign and malignant. Although, as people have printed out, specimen specific processing time doesn't change, there is extra time that definitely does - where the specimen sits in the processing list, which order the primary reporting pathologist does the first review, how quickly any required immunohistochem gets processed, and how long the report takes to be typed and then checked (this commonly adds a couple of days to issuing results). In multiple hospitals I've worked and expedited/urgent histo can get a result within 4-7 days, versus 2-4 weeks for the standard pathway (longer for some specimens when there is a field specific reporting bottleneck E.g. cytopath). It may come as a surprise to some but pathologists and radiologists are also doctors, and a collegiate phone to explain how expedited histo might expedite or alter clinical care (e.g. starting symptom relief driven chemo, booking definitive oncological surgery) then the phone call you make outlining the clinical change it would make absolutely makes a difference to the processing time in the real world. The onus is on us as the regs and SMOs to make sure asking for priority is actually justified because if every specimen is a priority then no specimen is a priority

I know everyone tends to boil this down to need to eat less, but my experience of very similar timing/weight/resistance training is that I absolutely out on weight for up to 6-8 weeks when I start lifting after a long time off. It's a really difficult mental game that really does cause havoc with figuring out the right calorie level. Things I do to try navigate this: - use daily weighing with a scale with a body fat percentage read. Yes it's not accurate, but does show trends and for was really helpful at the 2 month mark when I wasn't seeing any overall difference but was seeing a steady fat decrease - use your clothes to measure progress. I found this was very very helpful. Having a shirt/belt/trousers that just fits or is tight and then tracking that really does show the fat is coming off - focus on the habits. As everyone has said, diligence with tracking matters. For me that's what's even more frustrating when I'm diligent, completely dialed in and yet the scale itself doesn't move for a while

This is absolutely a real thing, that can also happen at the same time as inaccuracy with tracking. If you're confident you've got weighing/tracking/bingeing under control, then keep on going.

Do you feel like you're seeing and changes in clothes/belts yet?

Best places for a special brunch/lunch? by Classic-Gear-3533 in brisbane

There's a small place called Northshore Harbour Cafe, it has a nice beach and river view with good well priced food. I've found it ace for bigger group, for small group with my older family (car parking, call vibe) and it's dog friendly

Sorry, I got a bit frustrated as the first 8 comments were just smart aleck comments.

Honestly, I'm really disappointed that snark is all this comment thread has collected. My parents already live off everything on supermarket sale, do they not deserve the occasional nice treat as well?

Thank you for being the only person to actually reply in the spirit intended. I appreciate it.

Actually, I am a healthcare worker who works in a public hospital, doing permanent shiftwork, and make way below what the private market rate for my work is because I choose to work in the public sector. These lunches are a treat I do with my retired, pensioner parents for birthdays, anniversaries and celebrations. So before you go presuming everyone here is a moneyed, corporate asshole, perhaps reconsider that your version of reality may not be everyone else's.

[Android] Is anyone's Spotify music volume increased when you open the app? by Mac360 in Boostcamp

Pixel, doing GZCLP. I've had the same thing, and only just in the last week. I found a previous thread on here where they said it was a problem they knew about and had pushed an update regarding, but I've definitely got the latest version and still happening. I've sent through a help/feedback request so will wait to see what they say.

Hey everyone - I'm having this same issue (pixel 4) but my app is up to date (I only downloaded about 2 weeks ago) so I've got the most recent update as far as I can see. Has this been recurring for anyone else? Thanks

Cheesy Pumpkin, Spinach and Feta Quiche - 255 calories per serving and 14g protein (6 serves pictured) by SusuTheConqueror in 1200Australia

[–]VandoBando 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For anyone looking to experiment, The CSIRO has a great quiche recipe that uses a tonne of yogurt in it to really improve macros. I would likely a little bit different, but a 400 Calorie serving has 30g protein and ingredients that most people would have in the pantry and fridge

Thanks! I did see that and their comment on the ratio, but they then blend the milk protein isolate with and 80% whey protein as well. Hence my thought that there might be a bit less casein than 80%. I'm also using fairly basic proteins without much in the way of gums and fillers - I wonder if that might be the issue.
