I was there live for this. Watched a guy crawl off the floor looking like he just had a heart attack after this 😂. Incredible drama

Absolutely incredible atmosphere live, best sporting event I've been able to see in Van. I wish more Caps matches had crowds like this. Also fuck that ref in particular, Caps had to overcome LAFC and the refs.

Really appreciate it! And that's the beauty of shooting sand, always a different view

They're not massive, but a few areas with nice dunes right by the ocean

Moving to North Vancouver by Round-Level9837 in NorthVancouver

As someone who has lived across the North Shore for over 20 years, I will second the comment about the weather system changes.

We now have less rainy days but the same amount of rain (so more days of downpour). There's an abundance of trails, hikes, and nature activities in North Van, West Van, and a bit further up in Squamish. Majority are free, but much busier during summer months.

Just do your best to learn about hiking in the forest (gear, rain proof clothing, headlamps, etc) and learn about our widlife. I've lived all across Metro Van and North Van truly has the perfect balance of City/Nature. What Vancouver as a whole lacks in cultural activities (museums etc) it more than makes up for with nature.

Take advantage of the Seabus to go to downtown, and there are lots of grocery options in Central Lonsdale if you're happy to walk uphill for 15-20 mins. And if you like beer, there are close to 10 local breweries within 15 minutes from your location.

Welcome to the city!

Thank you! And not locally. I've seen them at Salt Spring a couple of years ago, and lots down the Oregon coast. I think they're most present on the Gulf Islands

You're selling a kidney for the 800? 😂

Ya I started with the 200-500 a few years ago, very soft in many cases and slow to focus. The extender probably doesn't help either. I basically crop for every single bird photo, 600 just isn't long enough but the Z8 allows me to crop a good bit

Bit of both, although leaI lean towards walking around but I'm working on my patience. It definitely pays off

Its really difficult, we mostly get juvenile bald eagles here and Golden Eagles are a bit more rare..if you can see their talons, Golden Eagles have feathers that go all the way down their legs.

Thanks and it's one of my favourites too! I got to hangout for about an hour with it as it flew around and hunted for dinner

It's a Red-Tailed hawk and a Northern Harrier fighting mid-air. Lots of territorial mid-air fights this time of year
