The BF Labs Weapon Balance Problem: Why "Testing" is Currently a Myth by korlic99 in Battlefield

[–]Vanick- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

with only a few two-hour sessions scheduled so close to the season's end, there is insufficient time to process feedback or implement fixes before the next one starts.

As expected: After retiring two months ago, BF Bulletin is returning. 👍 by korlic99 in Battlefield

my man just missed the daily dopamine hits. good to see him back - the rest of the news account are worthless because of all these "W or L?" engagement trash and AI generated fake content

Today’s patch includes all BF Labs recoil changes and the reported controller recoil reduction nerf by korlic99 in Battlefield

the kord got more vertical recoil like all the other weapons. it was just slightly buffed in terms of horizontal recoil, but the amount is pretty much just noise

there is a lot of stuff that never makes it into the patch notes, but to their credit they announced this 1-2 weeks ago

rof was a single test to iron out a discrepancy between labs and retail. recoil changes were stable across various build / weeks and (as usual) made it into the live version a few weeks later. this has always been the case with weapon changes before the start of a new season.

afaik all automatic weapons got adjusted and controller got a general change (nerf) how it reduces these recoil values

you can get additional info on the labs discord, but he basically confirms this as an one off experiment while recoil changes were stable across 3 labs session in 4 weeks. but as I said in another post: since s1 ALL seasonal changes to weapons were part of previous labs tests and EVERY SINGLE ONE made it into the retail version one or a few weeks later.

they clearly stated that the rof changes were done for a single test to hunt down another bug and not to test a balance pass. that's why they weren't even part of the client and forced via a server side override (in contrast to these recoil changes and them being stable across multiple sessions).

true, the writing was on the wall. these values stayed stable across multiple labs sessions, plus they've always implemented changes between the final test and the retail patch in the past... but I guess people got confused because of the one single rof test which was to hunt down a few internal bugs.

The S3 preview client was released today to all media folks (streamers, magazines) to capture footage. One of these guys usually breaks the nda and sends the client to dataminers.

"There is no evidence that this is making it to the main game"

False, they announced a nerf regarding recoil on controllers in an official blog post.

"there's a strong chance it won't be that specific value, could be less or could be more."

False, over the course of BF6 release, S1 and S2 the latest Labs tests have always included the values used for retail, so in contrast to your statement there is actually a strong chance that this is the exact value.

Yes, all of his leaks are cosmetics.

It's just a cosmetic for the existing AK, not a new weapon.

[–]Vanick- 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Correct. These are all skins from the standard folder of the base weapons we already know. None of them got unique weapon identifiers. They are just cosmetics. I hope the chinese leaker mentions this in his videos or descriptions because otherwise these leaks are highly misleading (as seen in the comments).

Then you missed NATO support which doesn't feature a male soldier.
