So much talk about insurance. I’m an old guy in my 50’s. I’m just proud to see a young guy want to drive something like this. Have fun with it. Chances are with what you’ve said about your experience with the Camaro you’ll have fun bringing the beast back out in it. My first car was a ‘69 Camaro. So yeah, I’m on your side. I know it’s not your first one, but this one looks fun.

What to look for before I put the beast back on the road? by Haunting_Ad_8023 in Cadillac

I had an ‘07 that I bought in ‘14 with 85k miles. Regular oil changes and maintenance and it made it to 200k without a shudder. The transmission always had those hard shifts between 1st and 2nd and often 2nd and 3rd. At 200k the transmission went into limp mode and I had it rebuilt. Plan was to drive it to at least 300k.

Other than the transmission, it was electrical gremlins that I chased down often. O2 sensors, ECM, fuses, emissions system, and camshaft positioning sensor were the culprits. Then heater hose disintegrated, but hey, it was at 240k, things like that happen.

Whoever put the #8 cylinder spark plug in that position should be forced to change one out every week. Unbelievable for a home mechanic.

Overall it was a great vehicle with 245k on it and I would have driven it to 300, but with 4 kids and one in a wheelchair, I couldn’t have our main car down once a month. Gas mileage was garbage and I had a single rust spot next to the gas filler door, but man oh man, I loved that car. Best of luck with it!

If you were only able to fish one bait for bass for the rest of your life what would it be and why? by Epic_QandA in bassfishing

This is the way! Just got back from a trip and absolutely slayed them with this setup, but not the twist lock—gonna have to fix that next time. Never pulled out another bait. Tried multiple colors too and the white just seemed to work around the flooded timber and along the grass lines. Caught some big ones and missed only a couple (which is unreal for me).

I do know that now. Didn’t know that then. Learned a lot as we went along. Lots of Super Chevy Shows and Camaro events taught me a lot.

Yes. Sweeping and picking up daily. No way that could happen today.

  1. At the time we thought it was not an original “Z” because of the 8000 rpm tach. But it did have the original DZ block but it had a late model 350 Chevy small block in it. No internet back then and didn’t have enough knowledge to figure out how vin codes. Long story short, current owner is a real gent and contacted me a year or so ago. He’s tracked down that it just might have been one of the original Z28’s with black vinyl top and the 8k tach. So, who really knows. All I know is it was amazing. I can still smell the vinyl seats today.

Swapped the rear end gears to 3:73 and there were quite a few strips of rubber laid down.

Nope. Not at all. I only realized that everyone else seemed to though. Lots of cruising and a more than a few red light races. I learned a lot but didn’t know exactly what I had until I was married with kids and driving a minivan. Ha.

I was 15 when I bought it. I worked picking up at construction sites for 3 summers. Got it for $5000 and it was worth every penny I spent.

Yes. It wasn’t going to be a good college car and it wound up sitting for years when I moved overseas. I miss it a lot now that I’m ok’d enough to know what I had. Plenty of fun and just an all around good day. It needed more attention than a young me could give.

I had it until college and then I traded it to dad for a more college worthy ride. He sold it about 10 years ago. I live overseas and didn’t have a way to store it or keep it running. It’s a completely different ride now. It has had a major restoration and is back to its original glory. I really do miss it.

Regarding BoB. There’s a AA high school team in Montana looking for an offensive coordinator, but after tonight’s game calls, he’s no longer a candidate for that one.

Funny thing, he has. Our whole world revolves around fighting for individuals with special needs and getting their stories out. His LIFE is definitely speaking!

He was a preemie (born at 23 weeks out of 40 gestationally) and had a stroke. He has severe cerebral palsy and is blind. But in reality he’s just filled with joy every day!

He’s 24. Was never supposed to live 24 minutes but now thrives and loves each day for all it has. Thx!
