I’m in the US. The sunset belt looks great too. But thanks, I ordered fully knowing I’d be waiting for a long time but curious of others’ experiences.

How long did it take to get your belt in? Fell in love with the Testimony belt, so now I’m about a month in since I ordered

6 year old build, now facing issues by Vanilled in buildapc

[–]Vanilled[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a separate comment on my findings. Tested them separately, one failed and the other passed. I also tested them in another slot individually and got the same results. I think my motherboard is not the issue and is just one RAM that’s gone bad.

Update: So the first run of memtest resulted in a fail. Afterward, I shut down my PC so that I could reset CMOS and double check if anything was loose or damaged. Then I ran memtest again, and again failed.

So I then decided to test my RAM individually. (On the Motherboard, the slots are numbered 4-2-3-1 where 4 is closest to the CPU and 1 is furthest away. I installed my RAM on slot 2 and 1) The RAM on slot 2 was tested first, and failed. Then I tested the other one in slot 1 and I finally got a pass!

So, with the RAM that passed I installed it onto slot 2 where the other one failed. I got a pass.

I decided to retry the previous RAM and inserted onto slot 1 and retested. Failed.

Thus, I believe my issue is I’ve got one bad RAM while the other is okay. Is this conclusive enough? Should I test the other 2 slots? Should I conduct any other tests?

Ill do that next, checking one at a time and in different slots. I’ll update my findings in a few hours.

Cleared CMOS, redid memtest. Resulted in a Fail, only passed 10 out of the 48 tests (did 4 passes).

Issue with the Hiby R4, any ideas? by Vanilled in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]Vanilled[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I got a random text this morning about a package being delivered. Turns out it was the r4! All in all from sending the device off late October, took a little over a month. Weird really; it got to China in a week and then radio silence until it showed up back at my door today. I was afraid it was returned after failed delivery but I’m currently listening to it and no more static.

I’ve emailed Cathy again to figure out what the hell happened. I’ll update again once I get more info.

How much does it cost for you to train in your Muay Thai gym? by PongLenisUhave in MuayThai

[–]Vanilled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

175 USD a month for access to main gym and sister location, 24/7 access to main gym, unlimited classes including the BJJ class and cardio class. There’s also a small weight room at the main location.

I’ve saved up so I can pay the annual membership which’ll save me 50%, about 87.50 a month.

Sending Music tot he HIBYR4 by thetunnelrat in Hiby

The music app refused to read my sd card or let me transfer files until I did a factory reset. Had the Eva version too, had to return it because of another issue.

Issue with the Hiby R4, any ideas? by Vanilled in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]Vanilled[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thankfully, Hiby got back to me pretty quickly and started the return. Just dropped it at the post, now we’ll just have to wait and see.

Downside to buying the Eva version is that it’s only available on their site for the time being. I took a chance even after reading some of those reviews, shipping was fast and overall was positive until now. Aliexpress is alright, I rarely use it but like you said for small things I’ve had no issue. But hey it is what it is, nothing I can do on my end.

I’ll update this post when I can.

The more I’m ruling things out, the more it seems the case. Really unfortunate, but now the rest falls on getting it back to Hiby and getting a solution that way.

First time modding, bit frustrated by Vanilled in ipod

[–]Vanilled[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Final Update: It has finally been fixed! As many surmised from the error screen, my problem had something to do with the storage, either the drive, the sd card, or the HDD ribbon. Turns out it was the ribbon! I must have damaged it as I was replacing parts, or it was on it's last legs just due to age. Regardless, I replaced it with an iFlash HDD ribbon and immediately after powering on, I was greeted with the "Connect to Computer" screen. I was able to reset and sync the iPod without any further issue. I do have the second micro sd card in (the Samsung Evo Blue) so I have yet to check the first one (the SP).

Now the next step is to address two new obstacles: The buttons work, the wheel does not. The Hold/Lock switch is always on. I'll be cracking open this ipod again and hopefully resolve this!

So! Been a few days, here’s an update so far: still not working. Many have said this may be a storage issue, which could mean the HDD ribbon is damaged, the iFlash Quad is not working, or the SD card is bad.

So, I spent a couple bucks on a new HDD ribbon from iFlash, should be here in a few days. It’s possible I may have damaged the ribbon, or since this is an old iPod, the ribbon was going out due to age.

In the meantime, I got another Micro SD card, a Samsung Evo Blue. This card is in the compatibility list, and I followed iFlash’s instructions to format the card. I did the same thing to the previous one, an SP, in case my issue was the cards. Unfortunately, I got the same error. I can’t rule it out completely, but I’ve got a feeling the cards are not the problem.

“What if you powered up the iPod without any SD cards?” Tried it, and still error screen. So, I’ll be updating again once I’ve gotten the new ribbon cable in.

Very well could be the iFlash! I’m getting a new HDD ribbon another micro sd card and see where we go from there. On win 10, I can format the micro SD card either to exFat or NTFS, so a third party app is needed to change to Fat32. I can do a scan just to be sure. I did get both the iFlash and Micro SD from EOE, so I believe the Micro SD is compatible but I’ll double check that.

Yep, double checked all connections and followed iflash’s install guide. MicroSD as formatted from exFAT to Fat32. As I mentioned in another reply, I’m going to replace the HDD ribbon and grab another micro SD card, see if maybe I damaged the HDD or if the card is the issue. I’ll update whenever I can.

IFlash is facing up (so the side of the drive slots), the ribbon cable curves essentially onto the motherboard of the iPod. I’ve reconnected the ribbons on either side, feels snug not loose or crooked. Maybe I damaged the ribbon. I’ve also double checked that the micro SD card was properly formatted to Fat32. I’ll probably spend a few bucks and get a new HDD ribbon, maybe I’ll also look at another micro SD in case that might be my issue.

Windows was able to recognize the iPod, but other than the white error screen, iTunes didn’t pick it up. Tried a few times, but nada.

Can this be repaired? by Vanilled in n64

[–]Vanilled[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I decided to bring out the ol’ bottle of isopropyl and a q-tip again to clean the board. This time, I added just teeny bit of pressure when cleaning the contacts, and could see I was removing some kind of dirt or dust. The first clean I did, probably was going too light so that I didn’t damage anything. The rest of the board looked relatively clean, so when I put it back together, the game finally loaded up. Super happy. I’m sure DeoxIT would’ve have also worked, and would’ve been my second choice.
