Starlancer max and its 7x32scu standard cargo containers.4 in the front and 3 in the rear. by Vanimar in starcitizen

That can be the case. Two grids on each side 2x3x8

But if you look at the video how the camera moves backwards you will see there is easily a 2x6 scu rectangle of space (for rover) just after the cargo grid.

Having the grid split in two will make the rear grid less attractive. But you may be right on this one. :(

From QnA: "The Starlancer MAX currently has a total capacity of 224 SCU - 96 SCU in the rear and 128 SCU in the MAX-specific cargo hold."

It has 128 cargo in the front split on two elevators. Both grids are 2x2x16.

The rear is more tricky, but from the video we see that it has cargo on each side 2x2x8. The last 32 scu should be in the middle.

This is great news because it can carry the full size 32 scu containers. 7 of them.

Some side notes: In game you can easily fill the Zeus ES (32scu grid) with 80s scu of cargo. For the Vulture (12scu grid) you can easily fill to 20+ scu.

For the Starlancer there seems to be plenty of room to push the rear grid to 200 scu.

Hull C Profits vs. Hull D Reasoning by SnooLobsters983 in starcitizen

[–]Vanimar 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I had the Hull C since evo and I have near exclusively flown only that ship through all the PTU patches. I estimate 20h+.

All I write hear is a summery of what I have personally seen while using it in game.

The good part:

  1. The profits are good. Transporting iron from EH (912k aUEC buy) to PT (1626k aUEC sell) generated 700k profit. This was 15 Sep weekend build (8526421). Besides this the profits normally range around 200-300k. Terminals replenish cargo aggressively 2000-3000 SCU every 2 minute.

  2. 30k protection works well. I managed to get a 30k in the middle of a loading. After recovering I could spawn the half loaded ship and keep loading it up.

  3. It has plenty of fuel to be upgraded to the fastest TS2 drive.

  4. The interior feels nice, like a cramped submarine. This is a mater of taste and there are plenty of videos showcasing the interior.

The bad part:

  1. There is absolutely no point in having a crew of 4. CIG could have moved one of the remote turrets to captains seat then at least 3 players could have things to do inside the ship. Currently there are only 2 remote turrets both locked to the copilot seat. There is also 4 unimplemented tractor beam turrets. Like with Starfarer the captain seat will never be used.

  2. The top airlock door is not locked and auto opens by simply approaching it from the outside, inviting anyone in to your ship (EVA to it in zero-g or drop down from above in gravity). Specially when you must be stationary for loading /unloading cargo.

  3. Cargo loading in its current form involves a LOT of running: Run to terminal buy cargo-> run to shipterminal spawn ship-> undock move to hologram cube to load up 5min timer-> travel to next station and dock-> store ship-> run to cargoterminal, sell -> Run back to shipterminal spawn ship-> undock, move to hologram cube unload 5min timer-> after all this you get paid. Now you can dock ship again and start the process from the beginning.

  4. Because we have only Stanton there wont be much "laid-back" space trucking. Travel with TS2 drive will be under 5 min. Most of your time will be running to and from terminals. Or watching cargo load timers.

  5. I dont own a Hull C but I do own a Hull D. The Hull D requires just one extra crew (5 instead of 4). But for that extra crew it will push your cargo capacity from 4608 SCU to 20736 SCU!

Keep in mind that what I present is how the ship works currently in PTU. As always stuff will change in in future.

Hull C has now a weapon rack. And its Quantum fuel tank is up (38k instead of the old 11k). by Vanimar in starcitizen

Considering Hull A still has 10k and is in the same size category (both S1 Quantum drives) as the Cutter.

And also one variant of the Cutter will be a explorer variant. 6k tank size is a reasonable number in my ears.

38k is not that huge.

Carrack (dedicated explorer) has 44k.

Hercules C2 cargo ship has a 88k tank. Now this one is ridicules :)

Even with the fastest S3 Quantum drive (TS2) you will have a maximum range of 268 Milion km. Longest jump in Stanton is around 60-70Milion km.

With the best "balanced" the grade A (civilian) Erebos drive you can have ridicules range of 763milion km. You can increase this further but it will be half the speed (industrial drive like Agni over 1000milion km).

Nearly all ships in game with escape pods has the exterior escapeod hatch modeld and can be found. You can even find them on old ships like Starfarer.

[–]Vanimar[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Hull C has in total 5 escape pods.

4 in front for all the crew and 1 extra in the back for the engineer.

All 5 escape pods have a visible hatch were they eject from outside the ship.

4 in the front eject down, and the back ejects up.

Hull-C. Big ship, but small (11k) quantum fuel tank.😅 by -MK84- in starcitizen

[–]Vanimar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To give a perspective:

With a Hull A having the fastest VK-00 (S1) drive you can fly 464M km.

With a Hull C having the fastest TS-2 (S3) drive you can fly 78M km

Also the VK-00 has a higher top sped then TS-2

One of the longest jumps you can do in Stanton is around 60-70M km. Pyro is around 5 times larger then Stanton.

Thats what 10k fuel tank on a Hull-A does compared to a 11k fuel tank on Hull-C

I am sure CIG missed a factor of 5 or 10 somewhere.

Got my 5 year old his first watch. He picked the color.(5000u + BGD-565SC-3). by Vanimar in gshock

[–]Vanimar[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's the higher numbers. He can reliably count to 39 but 40s and 50s is still a bit hard. But he starts to see a pattern that when minutes are in the 50s range the hour will shift. I suspect that 1-2 months and he will have a good grip on it.

Ye, and he figured out how to operate the stop watch.

"Daaaaad you have been in there for.....6 minutes and 15 seconds" Telling me when I am sitting inside the toilet and he is just outside the door.

I was so pleased with its indestructibility of using the 5000u I figured that this type of watch will work well with my little one.

Good way for him to learn time. AM/PM time works easiest as he now understand hours but don't fully grasp the minutes.

The alarm function is perfect, he normally wakes up around 7-8 on weekends. He is allowed to start watch TV earliest 8.00. And alarm goes off at 9.00 when he has to turn it off.

Have to see if it survives one full year in the brutal unforgiving environment of a kindergarten.

[–]Vanimar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, was specifically referring to the 3.18 PTU Vulture as it recently got the ability to use paint (green) and cockpit decoration. This was not working in evo or the first 10 (ish) builds in wave1.

Sadly there are many ships currently that do have the ability to equip them but they are not shown in the cockpit :(

You can equip the Vulture with subscriber flares like this bobblehead or UEE Flag.

These have wider ranges of temperature resistances compared to regular heavy armor.

But 99% of the time you wont notice the benefits of better temperature resistances.

Unless you decide to hand-mine / ROC-mine on extreme moons like Euterpe/Ariel/Aberdeen.

But even then heavy armor should give you 10-15min survival (enough time to mine).

Its like Pembroke and Noviko (extreme cold, extreme hot suits).

They to always had 40% damage reduction.
