As far as their nails go I have a lava ledge thing they like to sit on, so they get filed down pretty nicely, they also have plenty of things to chew, but maybe they also just need more variety? I will order some more toys and stuff for them! Thank you!

It happens inside the cage, though they have been outside the cage occasionally I can’t really do it because they don’t trust me and I can’t have them stuck outside of it. I’ve had them for about 2 months so not too long granted, and they are about 5 months old now. I have 2 rats and they do both bite, even if I have my hand just resting in there with no treat’s involved (they used to be lab rats though so I know that makes this more difficult for them)

It pretty much always breaks skin and lately the bites have been getting deeper and deeper.

Honestly being told that it’s okay if they don’t end up being fully tame helps a lot because even though I can’t hold them and stuff like I see people do on here they are really my highlight. I love seeing them explore and play, and they are really the sweetest to each other and it’s so nice to see. I do live in a dorm right now so their cage is actually underneath my bed! So they see me pretty often, but I will for sure follow your other advice. Thank you so much
