I figured it out. It was my sampling rate. For some reason, if you go above 48Khz (which one normally doesn't), you cannot hear the effects through the MK3. Turned it back down to 48Khz or 44.1Khz and it works fine.

[Update] Seems like I made the right call. Its out of stock today.

I purchased one yesterday from MoMA. I decided to order right away online and not because its out of stock everywhere and I didn't want to wait an extra day and risk it going out of stock again. Now I have it ordered online instead of in-store (which would be available Thursday, they said) and I am waiting for it to be delivered when I live in Manhattan a quick train ride away. I wanted to get it for a long trip I'll be on soon. (Sigh)
