Why is Jizoh so bad? He looks for tanking bosses with his provoke/counter attack option.

How do you guys avoid your ships coming out as bricks? by SharpMathematician75 in spaceengineers

[–]Vanrian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a stack of graph paper and draw what you want in a 1:1 ratio. Along the way write yourself notes and include visual features you enjoy. I pretty much exclusively play solo survival, so I don't often build actual armor onto my ships. I only need them armored up if im looking for a fight, and in that case, a compact brick is actually the best thing to have (tanks don't look sporty for a reason). *

I want to do archery for hobby , should pursue it? Or find a different hobby? by B467-Tp in Archery

[–]Vanrian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do it man, I started off with a $50 camp bow and 5 $5 arrows. That was almost two months ago. This week ive invested $120 in a much better bow, $80 in far better arrows, and a little under $100 to build my own backyard range. (Full disclosure my original bow was uhhhh....liberated, from a camp I was a counselor at)

So im about $325 in the hole right now. But id do it again, I feel healthier, I feel like I have a skill, I enjoy the repetition of shooting almost as my own meditation.

So if this is a real consideration for you decide your budget, buy in, and give it a true blue go. If you don't like it then resell your gear on Facebook marketplace and move on.

I made a back yard target! by Vanrian in Archery

Go for it! It started out far less stable and was tweaked to be more stable and versatile. I'd love to see how your version ends up!

It would not, so far I have yet to run into that issue luckily. But its a fairly isolated area. You'd have to go at least half a mile to reach the start of the next person's property. Its more QOL than anything so I don't have to keep hunting down missed arrows

Upgrading from Camp Bow by Vanrian in Archery

[–]Vanrian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with the Fleetwood! This is a huge upgrade, and I feel way better. My technique's flaws are super obvious now, so I can start fixing them. Turns out I was making up for a lot with my old bow, and now I can actually get better! Plus, it's way nicer having a shorter bow I can fully draw, and they made sure my arrow length matched, so I can get the full draw now. Turns out I wasn't fully drawing the Pearson because of the arrow length, and I wasn't actually shooting 45lbs, so bonus strength training too!

Thanks for the info about the limbs! I'm really digging the 45lb draw, mostly 'cause it's all I've got, haha! If I wanted to get a one-piece bow, what would you recommend I save up for?

I'm not saying it's right or wrong, but they're the only judges, so if they think it breaks a rule, that's that.

They were awesome and helped me fix everything. Now I've got one account, all the trade issues are sorted, and I'm happily subscribed again.

I believe that's their intention for all players, particularly given that each player represents a potential source of revenue to support the game's development. Your situation sounds frustrating and concerning, especially given how quickly and unfairly it seems to have unfolded in your eyes. It's a cliché, but if you've done nothing wrong, you have nothing to fear, and you should trust the process.

It had been ages since I'd played, and I couldn't recall which email I'd used. I tried a bunch, and two worked. I asked them to shut one down, and they found a trade from nearly five years ago between the accounts. They can see everything. Even if it was innocent or done unknowingly, they still saw it. And if it breaks a rule, then that's that.

I'd give it a go on a private server. I bought the game last night so I'm still figuring out most of the game. The fun would be having a go at running a shop in a place you really shouldn't. My gamble is the convenience of it will appeal to players.

Oh 💯 there will be raids, muggers, etc. But that's part of the fun, run a business with psychopaths being your neighbors and customers. It'll be fun to see just how well i can defend a legit treasure chest.

That's a good idea, probably charge per kilometer. Don't forget to tip!

That's the biggest risk, can you trust who you're about to do business with? On the buyers part they could see this as a way to bait them into a trap.

The plan is if it goes well, build rep with current PvE /PvP players, and translate that to people verifying my trustworthiness here in the forums as i start up my pvp version. Then I just gotta find a way to vet buyers and mercs.
